Carbon Negative Cooking
Our Tawi Stove allows you to capture carbon by turning it into biochar, all whilst enjoying outdoor cooking!

Carbon Farmers are back in action after a pause.( Both daughters married THIS year!)
We took our smaller, pack- down Carbon Harvester TAWI outdoor stove to our local, annual Apple Fest .
Chopped apples from our own trees to show how we can use FREE fuel ( fallen sticks, branches) to cook on directly in the Carbon Harvester TAWI stove.
AND, how we can use the biochar we made, exactly as you would use conventional charcoal, in a commercial Jiko stove to continue to boiling down process to finish off the chutney before bottling up.

Our first Tawi stove cooked lunch of the season, along with some charcoal for drawing and some biochar to add back to the land. It was a good Monday at forest school 💚🌳 taken in Bethnal Green by @carbonfarmers

International Biochar Institute event at Woodtek Engineering Ltd, Welshpool.
@woodtekengineeringltd
@biochar_ibi ribstitute

Cooked curry , rice, Naan breads, elderberry& apple with hot custard - for 25 on Thursday.
Easy cheese toasties, popcorn, & Kenyan coconut milk fried Mandazi doughnuts on Friday.
ALL using 'waste wood' fuel = dry fallen sticks, twigs, previous season prunings & brash. Huge resource which is SO underutilized.

Met so many interesting people with such differing reasons for using biochar, from small garden composters to large scale agriculture to international soil regenerative programmes.

Harvesting fresh vegetables: seeds grown from starter gift pack ; tku @rootsallotments @will4nature
Cooking on TAWI outdoor stove CHARCOAL for a change. It's ready to cook on in 3 minutes from actual lighting. It is exactly the same as TAWI outdoor stove biochar; were just using it fir cooking on this time, instead of adding into our composting.

Using garden prunings & 'waste wood' free resource to boil water, cook a meal AND make high quality biochar / charcoal in our TAWI Fire Hub stoves.
The largest stove in the TAWI family, the Fire Hub is designed with Community situations in mind.
It even has a PIZZA oven under the hotplate!!

We'll be there in the morning! Come and find us at the URC church, in the garden, cooking on different TAWI stoves. Also, Graeme is giving a short power point talk about biochar making, sustainable charcoal and how TAWI stove technology could really help make a difference. #innovation #Imagination #alternativecharcoal #shrewsburygreenfair #biochar #outdoorcooks #renewable #soil #deforestation #green #nofossilfuel by @carbonfarmers

Rachel took her Social Tawi outdoor stove to Snowdonia! @carbonfarmers
Camp cooking in style.... Foraged fallen sticks burning away... Almost no smoke....
Making biochar that will fall into the water tank ( spot the stainless steel gastronorm!) on which the TAWI stove sits.
Dousing the burned sticks is what stops them burning away to ash, and makes brilliant biochar instead.

Thrilled to have made my first batch of biochar with the @carbonfarmers Tawi stove — and cooked dinner at the same time! Mani, my 4year old, was super excited… I’m not sure he’ll let us use the kitchen again.

I’ve wanted to make biochar for a while, but it always seemed either too complicated or hard to justify — why burn wood just to turn it into charcoal? This nifty, well-designed stove makes total sense. Love it!

Late to celebrate Potato Day...BUT.. never too late to celebrate potatoes & plants.. especially when they grew themselves!! Genuinely... Must have thrown some old green spuds into the kitchen compost last year... They sat there in the maturing compost, along with TAWI outdoor stove biochar....
Then GREW of their own accord when I renewed the soil levels at the start of the spring!!
Nature is just brilliant!!
