You would think the top coat of the mold making process for carbon fiber would be a little bit easier since the foundation took more than a day to complete. Not so much. The top coat process includes applying a barrier between the top coat and the part, applying an epoxy gel coat, and then reinforcing the end result with composite material and epoxy. While the end result will yield a tangible carbon fiber product, it is so important to know what goes into the process and why this craft is truly considered art. #handmade by @carbonmodern

We are beginning to knock out our first production molds for our upcoming home decor products. The mold making process is a very delicate, time consuming, and difficult process. Each mold takes days to craft and requires an incredible amount of attention to detail. by @carbonmodern

We are assembling our new CNC machine and table. We will use this CNC machine to cut away material from various composites such as carbon fiber and Kevlar. @inventables taken in Angleton, Texas by @carbonmodern
