This isn’t just a vintage collectible it’s a piece of functional 1980s history. Back in 1987, before mainstream Dragon Ball trading cards hit the market, Shueisha ran exclusive mail-away lotteries in the pages of Weekly Shōnen Jump.
To get this specific Weekly Jump Pirates Club card, readers had to cut out a proof-of-purchase, mail in a postcard, and hope they won the random chusen draw. The prize? A 50-unit prepaid telephone card featuring early Akira Toriyama art of a young Goku riding a saddled, spiky dinosaur.🦖

Cool art, and cool cards… you can’t go wrong!

1st year English Gold Luffy in a flawless PSA 10! 🏆

This card is criminally undervalued right now. Let’s look at the math:

💥 Pack odds are a brutal 1:144 (similar to hitting a top gold star pokemon)
💥 Sealed packs are currently going for around $500 each.

…You do the math…. And then try to gem it 🤷‍♂️ by @cardagent
