Le Hibou Houblonné est de retour; et cette fois encore, la récolte décide de l’horaire de brassage. Nos houblons poussent près de Trois-Rivières, chez @duke25hops Houblonnière. Pendant la récolte, on monte chercher le meilleur des cônes frais et, en moins de 24 heures, ils passent du champ à notre cuve. Les houblons frais sont volumineux, périssables et il en faut beaucoup. Tout doit donc se faire rapidement. Pas des infractions vitesse, svp. 😉 Cette année, on pousse l’idée encore plus loin : les houblons sont québécois, mais le malt l’est aussi, avec de l’orge maltée provenant de Malterie Caux-Laflamme, dans la région de Beaurivage. Une bière brassée au Québec, avec le Québec, en septembre. Et comme chaque récolte est différente, chaque Hibou Houblonné l’est aussi. La météo, le moment de la récolte et la sélection des houblons façonnent la bière de cette année. Les bières aux houblons frais sont faites pour être bues jeunes. Elles existent pour un moment, puis disparaissent jusqu’à la prochaine récolte. On récolte. On brasse. On boit. Et on attend l’année prochaine. À la bière aux houblons frais. À Hibou Houblonné 2026. 🌿🦉 ⸻ Hibou Houblonné is back; and once again, the harvest dictates the brewing schedule. Our hops are grown near Trois-Rivières at @duke25hops farm. During harvest, we head up to pick the best of the fresh cones and, within 24 hours, they go from the field to our brew kettle. Fresh hops are bulky, perishable and you need a lot of them. Everything has to happen quickly. No speeding tickets, please. 😉 This year, we’re taking it one step further: the hops are Quebec-grown, but so is the malt, with malted barley from Malterie Caux-Laflamme in the Beaurivage region. A beer brewed in Quebec, with Quebec, in September. And because every harvest is different, every Hibou Houblonné is different too. The weather, timing and hop selection all shape this year’s beer. Fresh hop beers are meant to be enjoyed young. They exist for a moment, then disappear until the next harvest. We harvest. We brew. We drink. And we wait until next year. Cheers to fresh hop beer. Our Tragically Hip final show 10th Anniversary screening was one of the most special community events we’ve had the pleasure of hosting here at Microbrasserie Cardinal Brewing. Sharing those emotional moments between passionate Hip fans made it feel like more than an event, it felt like a second home 🇨🇦 Thanks for coming out and sharing a few hours with us, Montréal/Hudson Un des événements communautaires les plus marquants que nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir à la Microbrasserie Cardinal Brewing, c’est sans aucun doute la projection du spectacle final de The Tragically Hip pour souligner son 10e anniversaire.
