This is Alpaca from @vinos.plata What started as an inside joke turned out to be an amazing project. The first wine in a can made in Valle De Guadalupe is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, super fresh and thanks to the gas stored in the can it gives a hint of sparkling wine. The name does not come from the animal per se. In México there are many silver mines and silver jewelry is popular. But also because of this there’s fake silver (also called Alpaca) which is an amalgamation similar to silver that leaves a green mark on your skin over time hence the color of the label. Vinos Plata having silver themed wine labels thought of having a fun wine, something accesible to everyone and that’s were Alpaca came in, the counterpart to his premium line of wines. This wraparound label has a vibrant design for a spring-summer wine. The textures are a little grungy inspired by the alpaca animal and the colors came from the wine itself and from the alpaca metal’s oxidation. I believe the combination of the two help convey the vibe the client was looking for. A delicious easy to drink beverage in a cool accesible package. #vinosplata #labeldesign #winelabel #wineinacan #valledeguadalupe #chardonnay #diseñomexicano #winebranding #graphicdesigndaily #sauvignonblanc #winepackaging #mexicanwine #mexicandesign #bajawine #vinomexicano #tomavinomexicano by @cardozamx
Señora Bonita is the latest offer from @vinos.plata. It’s a premium blend of 3 grapes, the best selection of that year and spends a year in french oak barrels. Señora Bonita translates has “The Pretty Lady” it’s a tribute to the matriarch of the family, it encompasses the best they have to offer in a single bottle. The design is inspired by a strong woman that rides horses on her free time, it represents freedom but also strength, wherever she rides there is a power that follows. Part of the silver flow has a shine to it, the use of metallic ink gives it a sutil reflection, but not has much as foil. It’s a simple but bold label, not pretending to be anything else. Vinos Plata is a small winery in the San Antonio de las Minas part of the Valle de Guadalupe wine country in Baja California, México. Look into my last posts to find more about Vinos Plata, their logotype plus other labels. And follow to see my next wine label and logotypes, many more to come :) #vinosplata #labeldesign #winelabel #winelabeldesign #branding #valledeguadalupe #diseñomexicano #redwine #winebranding #graphicdesigners #graphicdesigndaily #graphicdesigns #logodesigners #productphotography #packaging #winepackaging #mexicanwinelabel #vinomexicano #mexicanwine #tomavinomexicano by @cardozamx
Granalla is Vinos Plata's white wine made mostly from chardonnay and sauvignon blanc, part of the wine spends 3 months in a new french oak barrel, that and the use of a darker bottle instead of a clear one give it more depth. This is a premium white wine. Granalla means grit or gravel, in this case we are talking of the silver's grit, following the concept of the winemakers last name. When the silver is extracted from the mines, after it’s processed, melted and cooled it ends up in round bits and pieces of less than an inch, .999 percent pure. It is then ready to sell for its various purposes. The front label design represents this bits and pieces of silver encircling a golden “G” for Granalla. The shape of the labels are ovals, that maintains the round aesthetic and once it’s applied on the bottle it will look circular when looked from the front because of the shape of the bottle. @vinos.plata is a small winery in the San Antonio de las Minas part of the Valle de Guadalupe wine country in Baja California, México. Plata Pura by @vinos.plata, a small winery in the Valle de Guadalupe wine country in Baja California, México. Plata Pura means Pure Silver, It is a 100% Merlot aged for 12 months in oak barrels, an intense silky red wine good for pairing with strong flavored meats and earthy flavors. The front label design represents shards of silver inside the mine, it's what the miner first sees when they find silver in its purest form, hence the name. The back label is adorned with geometric lines inspired by aztec shapes and patterns. With white on a black background and silver details. It's a simple design that stays harmonic with the front label's minimalistic approach. Look into my last post to find more about the logotype of Vinos Plata. I’ll be posting their other labels In the near future so stay in touch ;) #vinosplata #labeldesign #winelabel #winelabeldesign #branding #valledeguadalupe #diseñomexicano #winedesign #graphicdesigners #graphicdesigndaily #graphicdesigns #packaging #winepackaging #mexicanwinelabel #vinomexicano #mexicanwine #tomavinomexicano #diseñadoresmexicanos #productphotography #productdesign #thedieline #packagingoftheworld #packagingdesign #bestofpackaging #packagedesign #cardozaMX by @cardozamx
@vinos.plata is a small winery in the San Antonio De Las Minas part of the Valle de Guadalupe. They’ve been making excellent wines for about a decade. The leader of this project Erick Plata started his wine career working for Casa De Piedra a very prominent winery in the region, but soon after venturing on making his first wine called Plata .925. His second wine came years later. With Erick gaining more experience the project needed to evolve into a company, so with that in mind a logo was requested before releasing the second wine label. The concept has revolved around his last name, Plata which means Silver, and the process of extracting silver from mines. The design process included looking into various types of typography but ended up choosing a more traditional type, making little changes in each variation, the chosen logotype has some kerning editing, rounder edges and some other variations to make it unique. I added the shield since it was supposed to represent the past, represent tradition and it helped ground the rest of the logo, an emblem can also be used by itself to represent the brand. To incorporate elements of winemaking I added a little vine sprout on the left side, more rounded shapes to make it feel organic and also resemble worn metal type like the punch they did on silver pieces in another time. The label on the second image is Plata Pura, a 100% merlot commissioned around the same time of the logo, the label represents what the miner sees when they first find silver, silver in its purest form. And in the third image are some sketches from the beginning of the logo process in 2013. Vinos Plata now has four labels, three reds and a white wine and is now working on a tasting area at the site so you can visit. Try this fast growing winery before it explodes! #vinosmexicanos #vinosplata #winelabel #winelabeldesign #labeldesign #winelabel #logotype #valledeguadalupe #logodaily #diseñomexicano #logodesign #winedesign #graphicdesigners #sketches #graphicdesigndaily #winery #graphicdesigns #branding #brandingdesign #logodesigners by @cardozamx
Clovis is a shape, the point of an arrow. But it’s also the name we gave to the people who used that arrow on a daily basis. And they are the ancestors of most indigenous people in the American continent. The Clovis were nomads, as soon as the ice age was over they started moving south, leaving traces of their culture as they went, like cave paintings and tools all the way from California to Argentina. Cave paintings were the theme that inspired the Clovis wine label. This draft shown here is inspired by the “Cueva De Las Manos” in Patagonia, Argentina which I though was a beautiful representation of the ending of their journey. #labeldesign #winelabel #winelabeldesign #logotype #valledeguadalupe #logodaily #diseñomexicano #logodesign #graphicdesigners #graphicdesigndaily #graphicdesigns #logodesigners #mockup #mockupdesign #mexicanwinelabel #vinomexicano #mexicanwine by @cardozamx
This is not the typical brewery logo. It does not have the traditional wheat graphic that is commonly used nor the shiny foil that mexican beer overuses in its labels. Lupita Pérez Brewing Company is the brand's name and it was created for the young mexican-american border citizen. We like our craft beer here. This project was fun, it involved learning and understanding a little bit of traditional mexican craft. From the talavera patterns to the hand painted signs regularly seen in mom&pop shops, all the way through the zarape, the piramids, textiles, toys, you name it. Not everything was used in the end result nevertheless it inspired the colors and the organic forms in the letters. Being from the northern most part of México sometimes it feels like we have more contact with the United States than our 'paisanos' in the south, so we have to learn a little bit of our own country in order to design for it. I tried bringing a little bit of mexican folklore into the project hopefully it came through. Once the logo was ready the label was to be produced but the project has been on stand by since then, this is a mock up I produced with one idea for the #label. A photographic wraparound matte label with an old-timey theme blended to the brands colors. #mexicandesign #disenomexicano #mexicanbeer #craftbeer #logoprocess #diseñomexicano #logodesign #graphicdesign #borderdesign #bajadesigns #typography #graphicdesigndaily #typographydesign by @cardozamx
Aldebarán from @CasaCaamal was the first label I designed for them also my favorite. The story goes that in #mayan cosmology there are four gods called #bacabs, one of them is represented as the brightest star in the taurus constellation, known today as Aldebarán. Aldebarán is a blend of cabernet, ruby cab and barbera with hints of blackberry and some spices. Made in the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's foremost wine region. It is then transported to the state of Campeche in the south of Mexico for sale and distribution. #mexicanwinelabel #winelabel #winelabeldesign #labeldesign #vinomexicano #diseñomexicano #delvalleparacampeche #mexicanwine #barbera #mayanculture #redwine #cabernetsauvignon #tomavinomexicano #graphicdesign #campeche #aldebaran #tauro #taurus #CasaCaamal by @cardozamx
R18 rosé from @casacaamal is a grenache and zinfandel ensamble that make for a fruity & fresh wine perfect for this warmer weather. The appearance has an intense color that comes from an 18 hour bleed (saignée) and taste you'll find a welcomed acidity to make your glands come alive. It's a wine made to drink with friends. R18's design comes from a personal theme to the client, being their first wine the name is based on the documentation of the vinification process, the number 18 here is represented with #mayan scripture. The rest of the design follows the cosmologic patterns of the other #CasaCaamal wines, please see the last and next post for reference. Made in the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's foremost wine region. It is then transported to the state of Campeche in the south of Mexico for sale and distribution. #cosmology #labeldesign #creativityinisolation #winemaker #winewednesday #vinomexicano #zinfandel #grenachewine #cosmologia #delvalleparacampeche #diseñomexicano #mexicanwine #mayanculture #mexicanwinelabel #winelabel #winelabeldesign #rose #rosewine #saignee #tomavinomexicano #graphicdesign #campeche by @cardozamx
Casa Caamal is a wine brand based in the state of Campeche, México. The owner learned how to make wine in the renowned mexican wine country #ValleDeGuadalupe. CASA means Home in spanish and CAAMAL is his last name, it is common in México to use the word Casa on a brand's name, it makes it sound more traditional. The owner, Ricardo is from mayan decent so the logo had to represent this. The word CAAMAL in mayan means "twice" or "two times" and following this concept I proceded to the drawing board. They main idea was a #loop inside a bigger loop, something that went round and round or a thing within a thing but keeping in mind the "repeat" element and the mayan hieroglyph's shapes. After the clients input we rounded things out, literally. And this was the final shape. I've included some really ruff #sketches at the end so you can see were I started. Once it was approved it was time to proceed with the #winelabeldesign with a #mayan cosmology theme. I go into detail about the design on my previous posts, check'em out. #mexicanwinelabel #winelabel #labeldesign #vinomexicano #disenomexicano #diseñomexicano #mexicanwinecountry #delvalleparacampeche #mexicanwine #mayanculture #tomavinomexicano #graphicdesign #Campeche #CasaCaamal by @cardozamx
Mixba'al, a wine from @casacaamal a fruity red wine 100% Grenache with a label based on Mayan/Mexican mythology. The name #Mixbaal represents the number zero, which in Mayan myth means the begging/end of a cycle. The jade mask is the mask of #Calakmul, a symbol of Campeche heritage. The wine is produced in the foremost mexican wine region under mediterranean skies. It is then transported to the state of Campeche in the south of Mexico for sale and distribution. #labeldesign #mexicanwinelabel #grenache #grenachewine #winelabel #winelabeldesign #creativityinisolation #campeche #vinomexicano #delvalleparacampeche #diseñomexicano #casacaamal #mexicanwine #mayanculture by @cardozamx
This entry is part of the varietal collection of #VinosNivel wines, each year there are 3 or 4 wines released, 2019 added the Rosé Merlot to the lineup. After finishing the design and print I took some product shots in this pink background just to make the label pop. #rosé #rosewine #mexicanwinelabel #winelabel #creativityinisolation #winelabeldesign #wine #minimalist #merlot #design #valledeguadalupe #winewednesday #productphotography #logo #instawine #diseñomexicano #labeldesign #vinosnivel #tomavinomexicano #graphicdesign by @cardozamx
