Couldn’t ask for a more poetic ending to the first tournament on the new rig. Grand Champion of the @montauk_canyon_challenge . Our 210lb Bigeye held on for the week despite some of the best crews on the east coast putting in work.

We ended our overnight going 8/9 on Bigeyes to 210lbs, a bunch of yellowfin, an 83” Bluefin and a Blue Marlin release.

Thanks to everyone that helped along the way, our sponsors, and my awesome crew and bosses. Congrats to my people on Alexa Ann and all my other friends that placed!

Looking back on some more Five Seas memories, this past season may have been the best. 6 overnight canyon trips yielded 51 Bigeyes, 219 Yellowfin, 1 Swordfish and a few Marlin. The water setup beautifully for the eastern boats, and everyone had great shots of fish all season. Alexa Ann had north of 60, Hot Potato, Scylla, Two Docks, and Sheepdog all putting up lifetime bigeye numbers this season.

With this awesome fishing we were able to try out some new things and Omni Popping was born. The way the schools of fish were spread about 10’-40’ below the surface, we were able to sneak up on them using the sonar and strictly fish poppers from the bow. It was deadly for us this season and accounted for a bunch of big Yellowfin and Bigeyes on spin gear. The bites were instant and ferocious, something I’ll never forget.

Can’t wait to keep dialing this in in the future and pushing the limits of spinning gear in the Northeast Canyons.

After 10 unforgettable years running the Five Seas, the program is unfortunately coming to an end. The owner has decided to sell the boat, and with that, an incredible chapter closes.

I can’t say enough about how grateful I am to @alsebag and his family for the opportunity and the trust over the past decade. From the eastern Bahamas to the canyons, it was a great run of fishing that only seemed to get better with age. We built something special — great fishing, strong friendships, and memories that’ll last a lifetime.

I am looking ahead to the next chapter of my career, and am exploring and weighing new opportunities. Gracious for those of you that have reached out already.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting some of our best Five Seas memories from the past 10 seasons; like the one above.

To everyone who fished with us, the companies and sponsors that supported us, and all the lifelong friends I’ve made along the way, thank you. Truly. by @cardrok

Peak fishing stoke right here. Roasting 45kts to the feed of the year, and they stay “up”. 🤤

This big Bluefin foamer on bunker lasted over an hour and resulted in 15 hookups with fish to over 80”, including this initial “quad”. Doesn’t get much better.
