āœØļø Jason Vass owns 150,000+ Ken Griffey Jr. cards, but his favorite story comes down to one card his grandmother found for just $35. Jason had previously discovered the base version of a 1993 Ken Griffey Jr. refractor-era card and learned about the much harder-to-find refractor version.
According to Jason’s account in the video, only 238 copies existed. Then, about a year later in
1994, he visited his grandmother in Danville, Virginia. She had a surprise waiting for him. At a local yard sale, she had found the rare Griffey refractor he’d been searching for-and paid only $35 for it. Jason immediately understood what she had found. His grandmother didn’t fully realize why the ā€œlittle fellowā€ on the card meant so much to him, and Jason became emotional explaining its significance. Decades and more than 150,000 Griffey cards later, this is still the story he considers his favorite in the hobby. Not because of what she paid. Because of who found it for him.

šŸ”„ Kevin O’Leary just secured one of the rarest Shohei Ohtani cards ever made - spending $2.35 million to add it to his collection.

The card is a Shohei Ohtani Logoman 1/1
Autograph, showcasing a game-used MLB Logoman patch alongside his signature. With only one copy in existence, it’s the kind of grail collectors almost never get the chance to chase.

O’Leary and his investment group won it at auction, marking one of the biggest modern sports card purchases. But beyond the price tag, the card captures Ohtani at a defining moment in his career - blending superstar dominance with ultimate scarcity.

For collectors, this isn’t just cardboard. It’s a piece of Ohtani history that only one person will ever own.
Would you drop $2.35M on this Ohtani 1/1, or is that too much for any card? šŸ‘€

āœØļø Steve Aoki doesn’t just own a collection-he lives inside it.
Aoki describes his home as a kind of living gallery, using the space as a physical reflection of his interests, influences, and experiences.
Entire walls are dedicated to manga and comics, with titles like Naruto, Berserk, Death Note, and Gundam. Elsewhere, major art pieces-including works connected to Banksy and Daniel Arsham -are displayed more like pieces in a gallery than ordinary home décor.
Some items go even deeper personally, including a piece of Michael Jackson artwork gifted to Aoki by the Jackson Estate.
Then there are the cards.
Rather than leaving his most valuable pieces exposed, Aoki keeps high-end cards-including pieces from collections centered around legends like Mickey Mantle and Stephen Curry-secured in a vault and brings them out when he wants to showcase them.
The result isn’t just a house full of expensive stuff. It’s a collection curated around the people, art, stories, and culture that influenced him.
If you had unlimited space, what would YOUR collection wall look like?

šŸ”„ This kid might have one of the hottest hands in the hobby right now.
He’s pulling the kind of soccer cards collectors can chase for years, including a Lionel Messi autograph numbered 2/10 that came back PSA
10.
There’s also a Messi Crowned Legends autograph graded PSA 8.5, along with a David Beckham autograph and a Gianfranco Zola patch card.
What makes the pulls even more impressive is the variety: legendary names, low-numbered cards, patches, and on-card autographs all coming from the same kid.
For a young collector, that’s some serious luck.
Would you trust this kid to pick your next box?

šŸ”„ DJ Steve Aoki’s home collection features incredible artwork, but one of the standout pieces is a massive, crystalized Charizard card created by artist Daniel Arsham.
Known for his ā€œfictional archaeologyā€ style, Arsham collaborates with Pokémon to reimagine iconic cards as large-scale, eroded relics. This oversized Charizard recreates the legendary
1999 Base Set artwork with intricate detail, turning one of the most recognizable trading cards in pop culture into a museum-worthy sculpture.
Beyond the Pokémon pieces, Aoki’s collection bridges high art and modern culture-even featuring rare signed artwork from Banksy on display. It’s a testament to how trading cards have evolved from schoolyard collectibles into major pieces of contemporary art.
Which piece from Steve Aoki’s collection would you want in your home?

šŸ”„ Steve Aoki casually dropping $90,000 on a single card of The Rock in a Goldin auction is wild, but that’s not even the most untouchable piece in his case.
When you reach this level of the hobby, you aren’t just buying sports cards—you’re hunting for ghosts. Aoki is currently holding the only PSA 10 Cassius Clay in existence. A true pop 1.
He’s also packing pristine grails like a John Cena rookie card and a classic Hulk Hogan.
But every collector has a white whale. For Aoki, it’s his favorite wrestler of all time: Andre the Giant.
He’s actively tracking down the 1973 Wrestling Annual number 8 hand-cut card in a PSA 10.
The problem? There are exactly four of them on the census, and absolutely none of the owners are willing to sell theirs.
It just goes to show that no matter how massive your budget gets, the ultimate boss battle in card collecting will always be convincing someone to part with their grail.
The hunt never really stops.

šŸ”„ Inside America’s oldest sports card shop sits a time capsule that hasn’t moved in over four decades. While most local hobby stores rotate their inventory constantly, this shop is still holding onto unopened cases and packs that have been sitting untouched since the late 1970s and early 80s.

Walking through the aisles feels like stepping directly into sports card history. The owner recently brought out a stack of original 1962 Topps Bucks-vintage paper currency insert items that were issued directly inside wax packs over 60 years ago. To find complete, crisp sets like these sitting right in a local shop is practically unheard of today.

It gets even rarer. Tucked away in the store is an original 1967 Topps Baseball Punch-Out cello pack, complete with hall-of-fame legends visible right on the panel. Seeing unopened vintage Topps products preserved in this condition shows why this shop remains one of the most unbelievable hidden gems in the entire hobby.

Have you ever stumbled across vintage sports cards hidden in a local shop?
