CARE hosted our Philly Town Hall in Hunting Park last Friday. We shared the news of the new Puppy ban to a room of people (aside from Animal Welfare humans) that had no idea about the new bill.The room was filled with questions.- Why was this written/passed?- How can they prove the age their puppy is?- How can they prove what city their dog was born in?- What if their puppy is spayed or neutered?- What do they do if they see a lost puppy?A women shared a recent story that there was a loose dog and they rescued the dog and fostered it until they found the owner 3 days later. They found out the dog belonged to a young lady with Autism who hadn’t been able to sleep for days. It was her support dog.Thank you @n10_phl for hosting the Town Hall. Thank you @emancipet , @newleashonlifeusa , @hand2paw_philly and @phillypaws for showing up to listen. And thank you @raisingcanes for feeding the community (need more dog ornaments please!) It’s troublesome coming out seeing cats in the street starving, and people wanted to fix them and can’t… I’ve always been, be about it and don’t talk about it person.Everything time I leave with something new... I need that, I needed everything they said. I didn’t even realize my bias.I’m going to go home a change a lot of things. Already, I’m going home, and already know what I’m going to work on.This is why I love coming.
