How did I fit all of this into one week?!

Celebrated a closing with my client, took what felt like a million classes at @612jungle AND ran a 5K with my bestie. My legs are STILL hurting, thank you very much 😭

Somewhere in between all of that, I got my fall nails done and went to @nurhousecafe for matcha and a croissant THREE days in a row. At this point, I need some stock! 🤣

I also sat down with some incredible Black women for @_theguesthaus to talk about friendship, motherhood, business and everything that comes with trying to juggle all three. Y’all, that conversation was SO good. I cannot wait for you to hear it!

Oh, and I dragged my social media manager along to tour houses. She came to get content, but we were house shopping from the minute we walked in. Talking about “girl, your kids would LOVE this room!” 😂

I really do love weeks like this though. Getting to do work I love, spend time with my people and enjoy a little bit of everything happening around the Twin Cities.

At this point, I might as well keep a suitcase in my car because why am I carrying my entire life around in this bag? But seriously, does anybody else leave the house in the morning knowing FULL WELL they’re not coming back until 8pm?

I swear I leave for one showing and somehow end up being gone the entire day. So now I’ve got my laptop, my planner, half my bathroom and whatever else I convinced myself I might need before walking out the door. And every time I try to clean this bag out, I end up putting everything right back because the ONE day I leave something at home is absolutely going to be the day I need it. I already know how this goes.

Please tell me I’m not the only one carrying around stuff I haven’t used in six months because WHAT IF I NEED IT TOMORROW?! 😂 taken in Minneapolis, Minnesota by @carichambers

Hey October 🤎

I genuinely need someone to explain how we got here because I swear September started approximately 11 minutes ago... 😭

And while y’all are excited about sweater weather and pumpkin spice, I’m over here pissed thinking about how we’re 3 seconds away from it being dark at 4:30pm and freezing outside!

Anyway, I’ve got a lot going on this month, both in real estate and around the Twin Cities. And I’ve been thinking about sharing a little more of what I’m getting into outside of work too!

So, what do you actually enjoy seeing on here? And don’t just say houses because I’m a Realtor. I wanna know what keeps you coming back 👀 by @carichambers

Okay first-time homebuyer, come here. Let me tell you a few things before Zillow has you emotionally attached to a house you haven’t even seen yet. 😂

First, you must talk to a lender before we start touring. Not because I’m trying to ruin the fun, but because why are we falling in love with a $500,000 house before we know what payment actually feels comfortable for YOU?

And no, you do not automatically need 20% down. But the down payment isn’t the only money we need to talk about either. Closing costs, the inspection, moving expenses… because apparently buying the house was not enough. 😅

Also, that ugly paint color is not a reason to walk away. I need you to look past the lime green bathroom for two seconds so we can talk about the roof, the furnace and the things that actually cost money.

Once you’re pre-approved, do not go finance a car. Don’t open a new credit card for the furniture. Honestly, before you buy anything expensive, just call me and your lender first. 😂

And finally, your first house does not have to be the house you live in forever. It just needs to make sense for your life and your money right now.

What’s the first-time buyer question you’ve been too embarrassed to ask? Go ahead. I promise I’ve heard worse. 👀 by @carichambers

Okay, I’m going to hold your hand when I say this…

The market does not care what you think your house should sell for. 😅

I know what you paid. I know you upgraded the countertops. And yes, your neighbor sold for an insane amount in 2021, but girl… 2021 was doing its own thing. We cannot live there forever.

Your house is worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it right now.

And I already know what you’re thinking. “Okay, so why don’t we just price it a little higher and see what happens?” Because then fewer people come see it. Now it’s sitting, everybody is wondering what’s wrong with it, and two weeks later we’re having the price conversation anyway.

That’s not the attention we want. 👀

I’m not going to throw out the biggest number just to make you feel good in the appointment. I’m going to show you what’s selling, what’s sitting and where your house actually fits.

Is it the weekend yet? Asking for me.

It’s Thursday, my work bag is still working overtime and I’ve got showings to run… but mentally? I’m already sitting somewhere with a matcha and absolutely nowhere to be. Real estate does not care that the weekend is approaching, apparently. 😅 At least the outfit is cute and my clients make it worth it.

Two more days, Cari. You got this. 😂
