I’m creating a new series of necklaces, I’m very excited about them, and they are inspired by so many things. If you are familiar with my work you know that I try to do something new with each batch I work on, sometimes the changes are small and sometimes it just changes everything for me. With the recent show of Calder in Paris this last summer he has come back into my mind. When I was in High School one of the first shows I saw at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis was an Alexander Calder show - he taught me that Art could have a sense of humor and it didn’t have to be serious. I wrote one of the only ‘papers’ I remember writing on him and his work, and this idea of being un-serious in a serious world. I have made a living about approaching life with humor and a love for life, it plays a big part in the jewelry I make - people always ask me to make things in gold but I don’t see the fun in that… jewelry should impart joy and give you strength in your day, in your life, jewelry should be for anyone and everyone, it should be approachable and accessible, and most of all it should be a thing of beauty, a Talisman and a giver of strength.
These new pieces mean so much to me, I feel they are an homage to Alexander Calder, he gave me a love for Art and helped me to see the beauty in the simple and every day materials. by @carina.schott

Natural pearl, it is hard to capture the many colors in this pearl but trust me it’s a beauty! Set in an East/West setting (a kind friend shared this name with me and I love it) - Pearl is such a good thing to wear at this moment in time, it’s full of thoughtfulness and fulfillment, realizing who you are and making and place for yourself. I want my rings to give you that kind of power - it’s who you ARE, a WHOLE person 🧡 by @carina.schott

Releasing these into the wild… lately I’ve been into this horizontal setting, and I really love it! It also makes for very nice stacking because, let’s be honest, more rings is ALWAYS better! From top to bottom: Natural Pearl, Moonstone, same finger Indicolite included Quartz (nice power to this stone), Bisbee Azurite (from New Mexico from a long since closed mine so very rare and special), large Herkimer Diamond cluster. Adding these to my website now but I will be bringing these and more to @fieldandsupply Fall show October 9-11 in Kingston NY. Hope to see you there!! Get your tickets now! by @carina.schott

These multi stone rings are a son of a gun to make, but the reward is a killer! Next time I have to remember to make them when I have a few extra days to work on them… Herkimer Diamonds, Red Coral, Lapus Lazuli and Emeralds.💚 by @carina.schott

I would like to take this moment to introduce myself, I’ve met so many lovely people this summer and I realize some of you have no idea what the heck I’m doing… I’ve worn many hats in my life but for the last 15 years or so I’ve been making jewelry. A journey I’m thrilled to be on and I have no idea where it’s taking me but I am loving the ride. As a kid I was happiest at our cabin ‘up north’ in Minnesota looking for agates on the shores of Lake Mille Lacs, my sister and I wandered for hours with our buckets collecting beautiful agates. My love for rocks runs deep, sometimes I feel like making jewelry is just my excuse for hunting for rocks and crystals again. I carefully choose each crystal and semi precious gemstone for its energy— I believe you choose my jewelry for what it gives you, it’s not just a piece of beauty on your hand it’s much more than that… it gives you the energy you need, and if you choose your piece with an open mind, attuned to your intuition it will be just what you need. If you meet me at one of my shows you know I like to show my rings in a bowl of sand, it’s a sensory thing, finding your treasure. I create new work and post it here first, then it is offered to my stores @ericatanov and @shop_lowrider , these stores carry the largest selection and are usually well-stocked. I make everything myself by hand the old fashioned way, I have a studio outside for the dirty work of sanding and polishing metals and I have an inside studio for carving and stone setting. I also do my own lapidary work but I mostly use natural stones, natural terminations and stones that are completely unique to themselves. I feel stones have a natural beauty in the form that they are found; natural clear Topaz, Herkimer Diamonds, naturally faceted garnets are just some of my favorites. I invite you to keep your eye open, watch my stories for new— just off the bench work, and if something speaks to you reach out to me. Thanks for taking the time to get acquainted and I’ll try to post more frequently, however most likely you can find me in my studio… happily at work! by @carina.schott

What a great opportunity to show at Aspen Art Week 2026, I finished this piece just in time and couldn’t be more happy with it… I watched it pull people towards the powerful crystal display. Carbon Quartz, Moonstone Beach Rock, Petrified Wood (Chalcedony), Malachite, Montana Agate and it finishes at the bottom with an incredible Double Terminated Quartz netted onto naturally fell, live edge Black Walnut. 🌳 by @carina.schott
