august was a doozy :-)))))))) joyful and tearful and gut wrenching and blissful all wrapped into one.
senti hours: my therapist has been holding it down for a real one. lolz. but really, we’re figuring our shit out after too long flailing into le abyss. cool things I’m working on: being vulnerable, being brave, beating my anxiety’s ass (!!!!), acknowledging good things

PAIN AND DESPAIR: steamboat marathon recap from June :)
tldr: I did not train for this marathon and fuckethed around and foundeth out - do not recommend!
two weeks post Colfax half I said fuck it and signed up one week before race day purely just to snag some views and log some fun miles with my friend @biscuitsand_gracy

🌀 miles 0-2.5: never been closer to peeing my pants, while running specifically (iykyk)
🌀 miles 4-6: never been closer to sh!tting my pants
🌀 miles 4-10: IT band on some vengeful type shit against me. turned off my music until mile 23.
🌀 miles 10-17: walk run walk run walk run - this is the first time in my life that my mind and body looked forward to running uphill vs down - knees and quads were COOKED.
🌀 miles 17-23: run walk cry repeat. every time I hit a mile marker I had a silent cheer to myself & soaked up the canyon views around me. but it was legit clockwork that I would run .5mi, stop to walk and cry, and go again. thought about quitting many times as I was losing precious time cap minutes every instance I walked. my silly apple watch died around mile 18 - @garminrunning do u wanna hook it up or
🌀 mile 22: sunscreen slather, Tylenol, cry, wind
🌀 mile 23: realization that I’m so damn close - runners high starts to drift in. I throw on @odesza, start cruising, & joyful tears start flowing. I REIN IT IN BC ITS HARD TO BREATHE WHILE UR CRYING
🌀 miles 24-26: im lowkey cookingggggg????? not sure where all my pain went (it found me the next day).
🌀 finish line (last pic) with 18 minutes to spare the first words I spoke to my friends, “that’s the hardest fucking thing I’ve ever done in my life” & isn’t it crazy we sign up and pay money to do this kinda shit lol
- if you got all the way down here thx for hanging. I love this sport forever and ever. with no one else but me to get myself through something so fucking hard, I reaffirmed that I am so gd capable of anything if I just fucking try. ok tata!! by @carissabutt

you know what time it is…… I’m laying in bed pouring out my photos from four months ago (may)
notable notes: saw a few shows, ran my 6th(?) half, got a gnarly eye infection 🥲, enjoyed city transit views, took my helmet for some spins, ate terrible multi grain toast while creating a reel that never saw the light of day
