Happy Thanksgiving 🧡 Tomorrow marks one year since our sweet Chapman met Jesus. We miss him so much. By the grace of God we’ve somehow made it. Our hearts are still broken and we long for the reunion in eternity. The void is still so heavy and some days are hard to even breathe. Abraham recently asked if baby Chapman could come back from Heaven. So hard for a big brother who misses his baby brother and is reprocessing his grief every day as his understanding grows. 😭 But one thing we all agree on is that God hasn’t left us in this valley. He’s closer than ever before and boy is He still so good. We praise God for Chapman’s life and we thank Him over and over again for the promise of Heaven. ❤️ We also are so grateful for our joy boy, Abraham, and how he was our first miracle boy. He reminds us to find the joy in small, simple things and he keeps us talking about Chapman every day. Him and Chapman are proof of God’s goodness and being their parents is the best thing to have ever happened to Chase and I. Thank you, God! His grace, mercy, and never ending love is truly overwhelming!!! by @carlaofelia

At 7:54pm Thanksgiving Day 2024 Chapman Chase Adams went to be with Jesus. Here’s a few things that @carlaofelia and I are celebrating:1. When the world said we wouldn’t have ANY time with Chapman, GOD gave us TWENTY INCREDIBLE WEEKS. 2. THERE ARE NO TUBIES IN HEAVEN. 3. Chapman only knew PURE LOVE for his WHOLE LIFE. 4. Chapman is now dwelling with our LORD and is without ailment. Complete and perfect. 5. WE WILL SEE HIM AGAIN. To Jesus: Thank you Lord for the abundance of time you gave me with Chapman. He has forever changed my life and was the most accurate example of your love and provision. To Chapman: The love you felt from your mother and I is only a fraction of how much GOD loves you. If GOD allows it when I get up there, please run to me on your perfect legs and hug me with your perfect arms. Happy Heavenly Birthday to our sweet Chapman! 🎉 Hard to believe he would’ve been 2 years old today. I’ll never forget the day he was born, the day we all witnessed a miracle, and the day that changed us forever. He was so perfect to us and we will miss him until we’re reunited with him in Heaven. He was our little warrior, our reminder that God is still faithful and His plan is always better. He taught us more lessons in his 20 weeks of life than most people do in 20 years. I praise God for the gift of Chapman’s life, of being Chapman’s Mama, and of witnessing so many miracles. ❤️ Today we celebrate his life and his impact! We remember how he was so much more than his Trisomy 18 diagnosis. We remember his smile and how he knew nothing but a lifetime of love! I wish I could kiss him and hold him and rock him again, but I hold onto the hope of Christ and His promise of Heaven where I’ll get to be with Him and Chapman for eternity! 2 Cor. 4:16-18 “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. A fun 4th of July spent at Fort Campbell Army Base watching @chaseadams play with @thefrontmenlive 🎉 Abraham and I had a blast at the carnival, too! My favorite part was riding the ferris wheel 🎡 with him, we played “I Spy” when we were way up high! He also saw the @oscarmayer @wienermobile for the first time! 👏🏻 Last picture was Mom & I as we saw the storms rolling in just before the concert was cut short & the fireworks were rained out! Somehow it’s been a whole year since I’ve been Program Manager for HopeKids Middle TN! What a year it has been! Incredible moments filled with pure joy getting to serve our families alongside my mighty team of 3. Toting Abraham along for the ride & watching my Mom & my husband all get involved too! It’s truly become a family affair and a near & dear calling from God. 🥰 My mighty team of 3 - Susan, Justin, and I - feel more like family. We have become innovators, problem solvers, and teammates who fiercely advocate for our HopeKids families and the children we serve. We pray together, laugh together, and cry together. I am so grateful! ❤️ On top of planning fun events for our families to attend, I’ve been able to present about the mission of HopeKids & also the story & testimony of my sweet Chapman. 🥹 I have been able to conquer new territory - helping to plan galas, golf tournaments, and our HopeWalk fundraisers. I’ve been a part of grant acceptance ceremonies & seen sneak peeks of event venues in Nashville. I’ve seen the generosity of people when working with our event partners, corporate partners, our board, and our amazing HopeCrew volunteers. I’ve planned events for just one family & events for 200 people. 🎉 But then there’s the HopeKids families - all who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition. The MOST resilient kids I’ve ever met in my life, the strongest Medical Moms & Dads, the most encouraging siblings. I’ve seen friendships formed, cherished memories made, and the most supportive community happen at each & every event. 🥹 What I wasn’t prepared for is how healing this role has been amongst my own grief. How much I get to talk about Chapman every day & the impact HopeKids had on my own family. The amount of passion I have for these families to just feel like a family again, to have something to look forward to on their calendar, and to witness their strong faith in the midst of the impossible. 🥹 Needless to say, I absolutely love my job, it’s more than I could’ve imagined it to be. Feliz Dia del Padre to my Dad & Abraham’s Tito! 🎉 Abe thinks Tito is a punching bag & a jungle gym all in one! 🤣 I remember climbing all over my Dad too and it’s fun to see Abe do the same! They’re always playing tricks on each other & telling funny jokes! My parents come over 3-4 nights a week for dinner and Abe blocked the door one time telling my Dad he had to pay to leave! To my surprise, my Dad paid a quarter the first time and then Abe expected a quarter every time! 🤣 I think he hit about $2 before I caught on and made him stop! LOL it was too funny! Because of my Dad Abe is learning some Spanish words, dancing to mariachi music & Johnny Cash songs, and how to cheer for his favorite soccer team! ⚽️🇭🇳 Te amo Papi!!! by @carlaofelia

Happy Father’s Day to my Father in-law @thurman.adams and Abraham’s Papa! He is easily Abe’s favorite person in the world! None of us exist when these two are together! 🥰 Thurman never had a Dad growing up and he was THE BEST Dad to Chase. He is Chase’s best friend. They talk every single day & are currently reading through the Bible together. I pray one day Thurman can walk Abraham through the Bible too! He has survived a stroke, a mini stroke, and a massive heart attack. No doubt was it for the exact purpose of getting to meet Abraham & Chapman. Praise the Lord! Happy Father’s Day to the one and only @chaseadams 🎉 I remember the years of infertility when the title of Dad was all you ever wanted. And now to see how God has given you this role and the blessing of our two boys is never lost on me. You’re a great Daddy to Abraham and you were incredible with Chapman too. Those boys both know how much their Daddy loves them! 🥰 Thank you for being our rock and our everything! We got to spend some time up in Indiana with family this last weekend! Grateful my Mom got to visit with her siblings at our family reunion! We got to spend time with my in-laws & other extended family members as well as my childhood best friend @laurenmccolley & her daughter Sutton! ❤️ Abe got to make memories with his Mimi & Papa going to the county fair and we got to celebrate my niece Isabella’s birthday! Abe also got to see his JuJu - @jules.johnson324 🥰 Lots of fun things jam packed as well as some not so fun things - like a stomach bug that hit Abe on Saturday and then me on Monday. I didn’t get to see as many friends as I would have liked to and sadly had to stay back from the county fair fun! 🤢 The trip ended on a sad note as we said goodbye to my mother in-law’s dog Siouxsie. She lived a beautiful life of 14 years and she will be missed but it was her time to go. 💔 I am glad we got to be there to comfort @dawnadams2023 & @thurman.adams but it made the goodbye extra hard! We made the best of it and I am always glad for family time no matter what that looks like. 🥰 #IndianaFamily #roadtrip by @carlaofelia
