Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife Sue Ihm Bahneman. She may not be thrilled I picked this picture but I could show off her award winning pot that she entered in this years State Fair that won the Master Gardeners award. She is not only a passionate gardener but a wonderful wife and mother, a great friend. Her back has been paying for a summer of gardening but she’ll be good as no in no time. The flowers need her. It’s not often you get to meet people whose work you have long admired and actually get to tell them that. Last night was one of those moments. I got to meet James Cleary - DeVita and tell him how many years of enjoyment and emotions his acting and writing has brought me over the last 30 plus years. From his breathtaking acting at American Players Theatre to his fiction and playwriting, I have enjoy every moment. Last night I had a bucket moment and got to facilitate a discussion of his new book Sanctuary with him and a group of fans and readers. It was a wonderful evening getting to understand his writing process and how this fabulous book came to be. Thank you for sharing. Thank you, thank you, thank you from Sue Ihm Bahneman and myself, to all the friends, family, fellow Menomonee Fallians and total strangers who appreciate gardening. Special thanks to the Community League of Menomonee Falls for selecting our garden and to Peggy and Cathy for guiding us through the day. The Garden Tour was amazing. So fun to meet the other garden owners and talk to all of you as you came thru. It was worth all of the work. The garden and prairie never looked better. Community League, Inc. by @carlbahneman

Well the plants have been planted and the rain came then the drought then more rain and heat and all in all the garden loved it. Of course the rabbits and squirrels and dear came and we didn’t live that. Sue Ihm Bahneman knows how to baby her garden and she has it looking amazing. It is the final countdown to the Community League Garden Tour this Saturday the 11th. 5 beautiful local gardens including ours. The weather looks great. We would love to see you this weekend. Only $12 and can be purchased at our house. Come on out. Walking thru gardens is such a great way to relax. Here’s a little sneak from last year. by @carlbahneman

Yea, it’s here, it’s here. James Cleary - DeVita new book is finally in my grubby little hands. Mother Nature gave us a dreary day so I know what I’m doing. This is what’s called a win-win.
