In loving memory of our dear community piano 🕊️

After countless jam sessions, a few questionable performances, and many, many heartfelt moments, it’s finally time to say goodbye. Unfortunately, the weather hasn’t always been kind to our piano. With some keys missing, others stuck, and internal damage beyond repair, it has made its final exit.

It may not have been perfectly in tune, but it brought a lot of joy to passerby downtown. We’re sad to see it go, but we are hopeful that a new piano will find its way to the Info Centre in time for next summer.

Thanks for the music and the memories 🤍🖤 Rest in keys.

🛍️ SHOP A LITTLE MORE: @destinationcoastal
A curated consignment shop that’s always fun to browse. So many gems 💎 to be found here!

🌿 END YOUR DAY 🍂:RIVERSIDE PARK - 137 John St
Make your way down to the Mississippi River and finish your mini journey at Riverside Park. Bring a blanket and a book and stay awhile if the weather is nice.

• Roy Brown

🅿️ PARKING
Try the lot behind the Carleton Place Visitor Information Centre at 170 Bridge Street, or look for parking along Bridge Street and the surrounding streets.

✨ REASON TO COME BACK
You can’t possibly do everything in one visit. Next time, make it a food date and book @bluespoonatelier for a cooking class or @blacktartankitchen for their 4 or 7 course blind tasting menu! ✨👌

Save this itinerary. Send it to the person you’d explore Carleton Place with. And then pick a day and actually go. ❤️

As usual, the magic is in the details.

Your invitation is waiting. ✨

Today, we wear orange to honour the children who never came home, those who survived, and the families and communities forever changed by the residential school system. We wear orange as a reminder that reconciliation is not a destination, but a journey, and together we might build a more compassionate tomorrow.🧡

Today’s Truth & Reconciliation event at Misi Zibi Mamidosewin was organized by Colleen Gray of @artforaidproject - and what a beautiful morning of memories, teachings, stories, and music it was. Tobacco was offered in prayer and given back to the land as we commemorated the installation of the 4 Directions Stones and learned about their significance.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out today to support this event. We are so incredibly fortunate to live in a place where we have the opportunity to meaningfully gather together and learn from one another as we take these next steps forward in time.
