Have I told you that I love my job?

Just spent the last 48 hours with over 120 high schoolers with no cell reception, on a mountain, where we spent the entire time focusing on the presence of God & having so much fun! How do I get to do these things for a living??

Lord, thank you for this job, these kids, & this school. taken in Camp McCall by @carlymbruno

Gauntlet 2026- Strong & Courageous

Forever grateful that the same God who saved me as a high school freshman in 2014 at Gauntlet is the same God who guided me through leading my last fuse group ever in 2026. (I’ll get emo if I write any more about that 🥹😭)

In January 2021, I started an internship at Rice Elementary during my senior year at Lander University. I completely skipped the student teaching step & was thrown to the wolves to teach 4th graders completely on my own in the middle of a pandemic. However, this school & these people welcomed me with open arms.

Rice has been a constant in my life for the last 6 years as so many things have changed for me- college intern, first year teacher of the year, engaged “Ms. Davis” married “Mrs. Bruno”, buying a house, getting my masters, losing my dad, and so many other day to day things!

I have been so lucky to teach over 200 4th & 5th graders over the last 6 years. I have met some of the most incredible kids and adults here. I will never forget the impact this school has had on my life.

I owe everything that I am as an educator to this place. Everything about me as a teacher has been formed inside of this school.

Thank you Jesus for the last 6 years, they have blessed me abundantly! taken in Eleanor S. Rice Elementary by @carlymbruno

Exciting life update!!!

Next school year I will be teaching HIGH SCHOOL MATH at Greenwood Christian School!!!! 🥳💙🩶

This will be a huge change from elementary school but I am SO excited & ready for the blessings God has in store for this next school year!

This is a bittersweet moment because I adore my Rice Elementary family. I owe everything that I am as an educator to that school & the people there & I will miss it terribly. Leaving this job was a hard choice to make, but when God speaks, we are called to listen & obey!

The last year of my life has been filled with so much change & uncertainty, but the Lord has been faithful & I know He will continue to be! taken in Greenwood Christian School by @carlymbruno
