I’m interested in movement that feels good and makes sense.Yoga was the beginning, but over time I became more curious about the body as a whole — mobility, strength, recovery, nervous system regulation, breath, posture, tension, rest. The way we move affects the way we feel. And the way we feel affects the way we move.Whether I’m teaching on a mat, in a gym space, at a retreat or in a quiet studio class, my intention is always the same:to help people reconnect with their bodies in a way that feels supportive, sustainable and real.Movement doesn’t have to look perfect to be meaningful🤍📸:Michael Belcevski by @carlyy_sam

A quick lower-body mobility flow I come back to when time is limited. This routine combines dynamic mobility, many of these movement patterns are drawn from jiu-jitsu—with PNF stretching (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), a technique that pairs muscle contractions with passive stretching to improve neuromuscular function, increase range of motion, and build more usable flexibility.A little movement goes a long way when it comes to keeping the hips, glutes, hamstrings and quads moving well.Save this one for when your body needs a quick reset. 🤍 by @carlyy_sam

Foot & ankle mobility PT2. 🦶Here Im focused more on building strength along the ankle and little muscles that form the foot and toes. Notice how with the stretches I focus on keeping my heel either grounded or lifted off the block to create resistance. I managed to squeeze in that shin and Archilles Tendon foam rolling to release fascia. Your next run and/or lower body session thanks you in advance ✨ #mobility by @carlyy_sam

Strong movement starts with the small joints. 👣This is a quick foot & ankle mobility routine I like to do before runs or high-impact training to keep my feet and ankles strong, mobile, and well-conditioned. It can also be a great addition for runners who regularly deal with niggles like shin splints PS you can use a tennis ball for these exercises, foam rolling the shins gently is also a goodie. (Not pictured) A few intentional minutes can make a big difference. ✨ by @carlyy_sam

The non-negotiable planes of movement for days when my spine, hips and upper body need a bit of movement but I don’t have a lot of time. A few of my favourites are ✨Spinal rolls, hip 90/90s, dynamic upper spine rotations and hip internal rotation. Let me know in the comments if you try any of them. Your tight back will thank you. by @carlyy_sam

Mobility days 🌀 Creating length and strength on a muscular level at end range movements. With consistency, I’ve been trying to change my perspective to little efforts every day rather than a huge session and gassing myself out and not being able to maintain it throughout the week and honestly, it’s been working out so well. When small increments every day contribute to sustaining flexibility and strength. Game changer 🌀 #mobility #movement by @carlyy_sam
