ELVIS the Liger of the Jurassic

Artwork by: @giga.gjo

Basic LORE - Elvis himself is a natural born hybrid between a Torvosaurus & Edmarka rex because of his hybrid nature his body expresses Heterosis (hybrid vigor). Making him a 42’ (12.8 meter) long colossus of a megalosaurid, and weighing in at 6.2 short tons (5,624+ kg) giving him the mass to back up his size. Especially if there’s anything between, him, and his beloved chicks (Issa & Indie) you’re just trifling with your life by that point. Otherwise Elvis is surprisingly Placid in nature.

Additionally information

Elvis has been, my mascot/OC since 2018 & hasn’t changed much until now of course so, I figured why not since I’m getting older (hit 30 recently) & it’s time for a new look. So I’ve played with the classic nickname of “Tiger of the Jurassic” AKA Torvosaurus, my favorite genus of dinosaur. So giving Elvis speculative yet plausible Tiger-like tufts of spikes made keratin inspired both by bearded dragons & Caraxes the blood 🩸 🪱 warm from HOD’s. To me at least it’s a pretty neat yet subtle idea to make a “seeming generic” theropod look well less “generic” you know?

Brontosaurus wedding cake topper (1 of 2)
Medium: Stoneware Miller 75 clay

Somehow, I talked my way into making a dinosaur themed wedding cake topper for the 1st official wedding happening at the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History! Which so happens to be my children-hood museum at the same btw so a post alone, couldn’t tell, you how excited. I genuinely am to have this honor. However the wedding isn’t until roughly (give or take) a year from now, and considering. I take FOREVER to complete just one of these ceramics dinosaurs, mostly in terms of coming up with a color scheme. I’d figured I might as well get a head up start preferably sooner then later.

Red-Crest the Allosaurus
OC belongs to: Allosaurus_boi_

Mediums used
ceramic stoneware clay (Miller 75)
Low-Fire glazes

This is a gift specially made for my good friend & follow dinosaur enjoyer Dylan AKA better known as @Allosaurus_Boi . We’ve been talking & video calling each other & sending a lot of time together over these past few years overall having a good time a friends. So I figured why not make him a ceramic sculpture of his mascot/OC (Red-Crest the Allosaurus). Also if anyone is wondering why Red-Crest has a bitemark on his junk it’s because he messed with certain Torvosaurus named Elvis! 😏 That’s my OC who taught this Allo a lesson jokes aside the bite mark is a direct reference to Dinosaur Revolution Ep.2 (If you know YOU KNOW)! Anyway after an up coming art show for the pottery studio I attended @creativeartsworkshop on Oct 8th from 5-7pm, I’ll be sending this Allosaurus home to his intended owner. Although I’ll have to make doublly sure RedCrest is securely wrapped up in lots of bubble wrap & put into at least 2 boxes to make sure Red-Crest gets home safely.

Introducing 🥁 ISSA & INDIE
The baby Torvosaurus’s (My OC’s Elvis’s only 2 chicks)
Artwork by @giga.gjo

Elvis redesign COMING SOON! 👀

ISSA - The eldest & smaller of the 2 she is brave, bold, stubborn, & unsurprisingly stands her ground firmly even if it’s against a genuine theart’s to her own safety. Much too the dismay of her Father’s mental health regardless Issa knows she can get away with a lot more then she should. Due to her father’s Elvis HIGHLY protective nature & gigantic size.

INDIE - Although the larger sibling she’s quite anxious & shy yet surprisingly inquisitive and, has lighting fast relaxes. To keep herself and her smaller sibling Issa safe in fact Indie will even act (unknowingly) as a decoy. Chirping loudly & using, her white coat of feathers caused by leucism as a glaring distraction on the plus side this makes it easy for Elvis to find them both since both Issa & Indie can always be found together.

The Allosaurus skull is meant to be a homage to Big Alice the A. jimmadseni specimen while being a convenient hiding place, from a surprised… Roofed-Lizard. 🛖🦎

PS - Both baby dinosaur’s color schemes & personalities are derived directly, from, my 2 IRL fur babies Issa & Indie these two mean the world to, me. And, I’ve had them since they were both 3 weeks old. They came into my life 2 months, after 2nd dog Misty passed away.

Clementine the Centrosaurus “Pointed-Lizard”
(Miller 75 clay) 4 of 5 centrosaurs

Centrosaurus has always been one of my personal favorite ceratopsian’s ever since I’ve first seen its unique skull at the Yale Peabody growing up. So I figured why now 🤷🏾 make the type genus that’s given its name to one of the major groups of horned dinosaurs aka Centrosaurinae as for the quills Clementine needed the additional weight to keep her balanced otherwise she’s be too front heavy & prawn to tipping forward. PLUS I like the look of speculative quills on more derived ceratopsians anyway.

PS - Yes Styracosaurus is the next & last centrosaurine I’ll be making next week

My 1st time coloring on procreate & decided to create my own take on D. rex from Rebirth what do you guys, gals, & none-binary pals think? 😗👉👈 I tried going for a more naturalistic yet plausible interpretation for my favorite mutant theropod.

PS - I’m genuinely tempted to make this Distorted-King into a ceramic sculpture someday but not any time soon. 😅

Make Love 🏳️‍🌈 Not War

This one is based off a hand full of memes alongside my most famous or infamous collab with @_allosaurus_boi_ we’ve done awhile ago but all. I can say is this is 1 of 3 pieces meant for another… Different-Lizard enthusiasts. 😏 Some of you can probably guess who, and as for the handsome Torvosaurus (2nd to last pic) is a design done by @mercurialmarc2_ who helped me out with this project.

Kaiser the Allosaurus fragilis
OC belongs to @allo_artz

This was my 2nd attempt at making this Allo but after trying my best figuring out how to make the teeth, remaking his arms 4 times, & not knowing how to pose this beast properly. For example you can see in the 1st image compared to 5th how awkward and clumsy the legs looked. In combination with me only working with traditional ceramic clay it was a challenging 4 months worth of work at the time sadly I failed… Again however, I learned a lot & won’t let this old Allosaurus get the better of me. 😤 Not sure when I’ll get started on the 3rd attempt but when I do I’ll be sure to make him look just as good if not better then before & this time Kasier won’t be alone. Let’s just say a certain Tiger of the Jurassic will be joining him for a rematch! 👁️👁️

PS - This is just a friendly beef 🥩 nothing serious & we’re still good friends & once I complete this ceramic sculpture it’s intended gift for Allo_Artz.

The Resting Giant & 2 Wandering Souls

Commissioned by myself & artwork by @allo_artz

The large theropod is Elvis, my OC/mascot representing myself, and the two fur babies are Angel & Misty.

Misty Rodriguez (chihuahua/wiener dog mix) 2012–2022

She came into my life rather abruptly, & she brought me so much joy. Sadly, I had to put Misty down due to kidney failure. A year before she passed, her beautiful amber and blue eyes clouded with cataracts, and she became blind. Then one year later, & roughly a week before I had to put her down, she stopped eating (she never refused food), & her skin smelt of urine. Which left me no choice but to put her to rest. My phone was playing 2018 GOW (specifically “Ashes”), & even as Misty’s life left her, I held onto her tightly & didn’t let go of her until roughly an hour after her passing. It took me a full year to let go of the grief that struck my heart. ❤️‍🩹

Angel Rodriguez (purebred white Chihuahua) 2007–2024

Where do I begin with her… back in the 2000’s, I watched Princess Mononoke for the first time as it aired in America on Cartoon Network in 2001, & I’d seen Moro, the wolf 🐺 mother/goddess. I was struck by her beauty and demeanor. I’d wished so deeply my first dog would be just like her. Then, for literally years, I begged my mother for a white female Chihuahua, & one day she came. One day, my mother was late picking me & my brother up from our grandmother’s. I yelled in excitement to see my mother, but they stopped me dead in my tracks & gently put her finger to her mouth, shushing me, then put her into my arms. Then there she was… Angel, as a 3-week-old puppy. I went quiet, & she grew up to be brave, carefree, loving, & suspiciously acted like Moro for 17 years & 9 months. She improved my well being so much without Angel, I honestly wouldn’t be here today. Angel passed away in my mother’s arms due to heart failure, but for her last year of life, Angel raised & took care of two new puppies, Issa & Indie, like they were her own. So in the end, she lived a loving & peaceful life. by @carmelosaurus
