I am honored to share our work and the concept and motivation that went into our design— from the detention center to the olive oil making process at Buddy’s farm and the expanded world of #Houston both in Yusra’s home and Mo’s friend’s homes.

A glimpse of this past year and our “almost done” renovation 🫶🏼

Will be sharing more about my experience designing abroad and making our first home together. This first year living in Sthlm full time has been difficult at times but also transformative.

I managed to stay busy and use my time away from movies to design our new home; my favorite part so far has been flipping furniture, finding vintage pieces and digging for art. More 🔜💪🏼

That’s a wrap on Tumor and Q1 🫰🏼

I have so much gratitude and respect for the sweet angels of this LA crew. I could not be more proud of what we accomplished together. You are all rock stars. 💙

Came back to Sthlm to our new home and spring. There are more design decisions to be made— but we are nearing the end of this renovation and it’s giving me new energy! I can’t wait to share more soon!!!

As I move through a creative transformation, I’ve been reflecting on designing If I Had Legs I’d Kick You — how it became more than a collaboration. It felt like coming home to the parts of myself I left behind in art school, the ones dismissed or misunderstood for being too feminist, too emotional, too much.

Working with the deeply curious @marywallwashere reconnected me to that artist. Her visceral way of directing let me design intuitively — to let characters grow from their environments and weave space, color, memory, and emotion into one whole.

For me, Linda and her world reflect the psyche — facets of the self I now explore through healing work. This film led me back to the darkness where my creativity was born — the place of where I dance with fear, rejection, and shame ultimately leading to rebirth.

I’m proud of the women who made this film brilliant. And from that gratitude, I’m daring to believe again: I am a visual artist with more art to create and my own stories to tell. by @carmen_tea

A true pioneer for women in conservation and one of the most inspiring and innovative scientists of our time, @janegoodallinst has left for greener pastures.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what her work meant to me and so many others. Goodall has been a personal hero of mine for the last twenty five years. Ever since I sketched this baby chimp in my commercial art class after pouring over Nat Geo archives peeking into other worlds.

This drawing is the first piece of art that made me proud. It also made me realize how much better my art became when I draw something that I care about. It planted a seed in me— an awareness of how much one person can do. Her tireless commitment to field studying challenged so much of what was happening in scientific research at that time and taught an entire male industry about experiential studies —chimps using tools. Her discovery of the constellations of chimpanzees and their communities while teaching us a way to connect with and protect them.

As I sit with this loss of someone I never met but who made such a formative impact on me, I try to look ahead on how it can inspire a more truthful action in me as an adult. There is a sort of red thread to explore filmmaking in so many ways— how can I become more experimental and break the mold that Ive placed myself in.

This contemplation has activated my inner world traveler and storyteller so much so that this past year Ive been working to developing a documentary about the intrinsic bond between conservation and women.

This project is inspired by the incredible collaboration of Filippa Tallas-Walberg founder of @wildhoodfoundation and Damien Mander’s @weareakashinga With this project, I aim to raise awareness and honor Wildhood’s ten year anniversary.

This initiative has developed way beyond protecting 9 million hectares of animals and land across three countries. It has given women community, and an unspoken intimacy and trust with our animals proving what happens when we empower women as the matriarchal custodians of our natural earth.

Bucket list moment to have my work featured in @adg800 Perspective magazine since joining the The Art Director’s Guild in 2018.

This publication features the pioneers of our industry working in the art department and their team’s creative processes.

I am beyond honored to have our design for @moamer S2 produced by @netflix and @a24 featured in the August issue of this industry publication that I look at every month to get inspired by my peers.

My Texas team is 💯 behind this vision and I am filled to the dang brim with gratitude for having this amazingly fun group of artists show up for me everyday and playfully go above and beyond what I thought was possible.

If there’s anything to know about my creative process as a designer, it’s that my team and our collaboration is a sacred space and the life force behind my work.

And working with supportive showrunners and directors who believe in your vision like @slick_naim and @moamer makes it easy to love what I do everyday.
