After a 4 year hiatus I am excited to share a new album cover I created for The Black Keys. This album is very special to me and it feels really good to be back working with my friends on something I love deeply.

The cover features a photograph from living legend William Eggleston and the sessions were some of the emotionally charged recordings the band has ever made. I am very excited for everyone to see this work and more importantly hear these new songs.

I am working as creative director on this album / campaign / tour / merch and this is just the beginning of the work that will becoming out this year.

We have assembled an insane creative team to support this album and tour and I am very excited to share what we have been building.

Thank you Dan and Pat and the whole team for making this record and making this whole thing happen.

On a personal note, 7 years ago today I was laying in an ICU bed recovering from a massive stroke and emergency brain surgery. To say that I am lucky to be here and to be doing this is a massive understatement. This wouldn’t be happening without the love and support of my incredible wife who carried me while I attempted to pick up the pieces. If you’re wondering why I have been gone, that is a big part of it. Weirdly it is also why I am back. by @carneymichael

New work for @theblackkeys for the final two stops on the US leg of the peaches ‘n kream tour. (We still have Europe and Canada for September and October).

This was designed by my old friend @wtfugman in collaboration with @easyeyesound @martnhugo (@jairoespinel we missed you on this one).

This whole merch line was only possible because of the last 5 years I spent as creative director at @redstarmerch and the network of designers / illustrators and poster artists who I have collaborated with on countless projects in that role.

From the start of the Peaches! video conversations we knew we wanted to create a unique visual for every song on the album, not just the music video singles.

Some of these were concepted from the start, others discovered during the shoot, and a few found on the cutting room floor…anything could work as long as the visual tone connected with the track. Collect em all on the band’s YT channel 🍑✌🏼
