I don't often buy G1 type Transformers but when I do I like to have cel-shaded windows on them for more of a cartoon look (and to cover any visible robojunk the transparent windows might show). @reprolabels does them for many figures including SS MTMTE Hot Rod here. So that's nice. 👍🏼

Ironhide: "You feeling lucky, punk?"
Optimus Prime: "Easy, Ironhide."
Ironhide: "Just kidding. I just wanted to show him my cannons."

And now that the correct batteries finally turned up, he can indeed show them. They use a smaller type (2x 1.5V LR621 for each cannon) than the one for his head (a 3V CR927) so I had to order some. His right arm cannon has a much yellower/pale light than I liked so I cut a small round piece of red cellophane and put it inside between the white LED and the translucent orange cannon part and now it looks a bit more intense. :)

I've seen a third-party LED kit for his headlights on his chest that look cool. Looks a bit tricky to install but I might be tempted. For now though I'm very happy with this guy.

Video to show them flashing as if firing. 🙂

Upgraded the front wheels of Yolopark AMK Pro Ironhide. The stock ones are fine but not very accurate and are very plastic looking. The new ones have more paint, detail and the (more rubber looking) tyres have the screen-accurate split that they should. Overall probably not make much difference to most people but for me they add a lil extra coolness to a figure I already love.

The second image compares the stock wheel (left) with the upgrade. The two new wheels cost me about £14 inc shipping from AliX.

I went to London for a MJ birthday boat party in the River Thames. I haven't been on a boat in decades and this was way out of my comfort zone being on a boat packed with people dancing and bumping into each other (with people getting a bit tipsy and the boat swaying). Not a situation I could easily leave if I got overwhelmed (unless I want to risk swimming in the Thames). Met up with my friend Summer and her mother there and I made some new friends too and they helped me have a lot of fun there. I took photos of some of the usual London landmarks visible from the boat. I didn't take many of the attendees as I feel weird if I don't have permission from everyone in the shot but I have a couple.

I had intended to go home after the boat party but we heard of another MJ birthday event being held in Trafalgar Square a couple hours later so we headed there and stopped on the way to get some dinner. We were walking with a large portable speaker playing MJ tunes loud and singing along and many people we walked by danced along too.

I had a bit of a lengthy chore getting home due to cancelled trains and a replacement bus service but it didn't spoil the otherwise lovely day I had. Obviously I need to 'recharge my social battery' now and try rest up but yeah I loved that day and looking forward to doing it again sometime. Thank you, Summer, Lorraine, Patricia, Lia and everyone else that made me feel welcome and made the day a great one. ❤️

Still grieving Dolly and Tim and then Peter Cullen passes away too? I hate it.
Peter might not be the most famous of the three but his work is iconic for several generations of kids in many different voice roles. The most well known of them is obviously Optimus Prime whether in the original cartoon or the live action movies. His voice had such gravitas and charisma and means so much to so many of us.
Here's two of my Optimus Prime figures representing the two main eras of Cullen's various incarnations of Optimus.

When editing the photo, Insta's recommended music track was "Death of Optimus Prime" from the '86 film. It knew.

Yolopark also included a pack of stickers and a plastic standee of Ironhide with the AMK Pro figure too. There will be standees of all five of the 2007 Autobot squad as they are released and they will connect to form a group display piece. Nice bonus items. 🙂

Yolopark AMK Pro Ironhide

I love this. It really does look like the movie CGI and is very detailed and posable.

I don't have the right batteries for the LEDs in the cannons so I'll have to order some. They use a different size to the one on the head.

Got me Batman and Superman from Mattel's new cheap kid's line of DC figures and these are pretty great for the price. 6 inch figures with decent articulation (just missing ankle) and nice accessories. Batman has a whole rack of weapons and can attach three to his belt. Superman gets chest armor and some scrap metal.
I got these from Smyths. They are usually £13 but Batman was £10 cos there was a sale on wave 1.

I blame @toysandtomfoolery cos his photos of these made me buy them. 🙂

Am 47 today. It's weird.

Please excuse my sweatiness. England is having yet another heatwave and I am melting.

Music choice because I was born two days after MJ's album Off the Wall was released. That's neat. In the photo I am almost on the wall but not quite, so I am off the wall. Right? Okee. 🙂 taken in St Neots by @carnivius
