I’ve been so inspired by my friends and fellow artists in my life recently 🥰🌌🖤 Thank you for pushing me to try new art forms, follow my whimsies, and investigate what I’m curious about! This was my first attempt at mask-making in perhaps 25 years, and WHEW it led me down so many joyful rabbit holes in the process. 🤭

A couple of weeks ago—for the first time in too long a time—I sat down to write a creative story. And my favourite part was realising how much I didn’t know and would have to research to get the details juuuuuust right!! I felt positively giddy with the rush of looking up the life cycle of a flax plant and the chemistry of making elderberry wine and the gestation period of a deer in the north of Ireland. What better way to spend an autumn evening than with a mug of spiced cider, books opened to specific pages for reference, and a page full of ideas and half-formed sentences.

So if you needed a reminder that YOU literally get to create the stories you tell yourself, YOU get to make/decide the props for your life, let this be it. 💐🌿🌌

Bring fabric, take fabric, keep good materials out of landfill, leave inspired with new materials to work with FOR FREE! Natural Dye explorations! Not a tutorial, just some fun introducing others in my community to the magic of dyeing with oak galls collected on my way home from work! 🥰🎨

I’ve been quite radio silent over here while I try to heal and get interested in my practice again, so I’m just trying to have fun with it right now 🖤

I’m really enjoying falling back in love with life and with experimenting and making things. It’s so, so much fun 💞

P A L E S T I N A L I B R E

On this #NakbaDay I’d like to offer a piece I made recently, inspired by the resilient Palestinian poppy, her people, and the lifelong, generations-long fight for liberation.

Huge gratitude to the wonderful artists and educators of @outletpdx whose three-hour long Risograph printmaking workshop gave birth to this piece of art—and to my re-ignited Riso obsession. I learned so much! I had so much fun getting creative with artists from all walks of life! It’s safe to say I have become an absolute Risograph fiend and I am itching to get my hands on another machine to keep experimenting!! 😍
