🤷‍♀️ And for a long time I couldn’t hold both of those things at once… Because all I could see was the missed appointments, the doom piles that kept building up, and that constant feeling of being behind organising my own home. So it didn’t feel like a gift. It felt like something I had to fight every single day. But here’s what I’ve come to realise. 🧠 It’s not that your brain is the problem. It’s that most homes are set up in a way that expects consistency, routine and memory. And ADHD just doesn’t work like that. So of course things slip, get lost and clutter builds. Not because you’re lazy, not because you don’t care, but because your home isn’t set up for how your brain actually works. But a few small shifts that make a really big difference… ➡️ Put things where you actually look for them, not where you think they’re supposed to go. So if you always look for your keys on the kitchen counter, that’s where they live now. ➡️ Keep things out where you can see them. The moment something goes in a drawer or a cupboard, it’s gone from your brain. ➡️ Make things as easy as possible to put away. If the bin bag is too far away, the rubbish will pile up. Remove the extra steps. ➡️ Pick one spot near your front door for everything that comes in with you. Keys, bags, mail. One place, every time, so the mess has somewhere to land instead of spreading everywhere. You don’t need more discipline. You need a home that works with your brain, not against it. If you’ve spent years thinking you’re the problem, you’re not. You’ve just been trying to function in a space that was never designed for you. 🙋‍♀️ If this feels like you, follow me. Because I share simple ways to set your home up so it actually supports your brain, and life feels a little lighter because of it. #adhdwomen #adhdhelp #adhdtips #adhdsupport #adhdcommunity by @caro.thor

For years, I thought the secret to an organized home when you have ADHD was just getting rid of as much as possible. So I decluttered. And decluttered. And decluttered some more.I wanted to be a calmer, more present mom.And while it helped, my home still didn’t feel organized. And I DID NOT feel calm!Because the truth is: you can own very little and still feel completely overwhelmed.🚫 Myth: Decluttering = Organization.✅ Truth: Less stuff is helpful, but it’s not enough. An organized home isn’t just about having less—it’s about:✔ Creating simple systems so everything has a home.✔ Making your space work for you, not against you.✔ Building routines so things stay organized effortlessly.✔ Involving your family so it’s not all on you.So if you’ve decluttered but still feel like your home is chaotic, it’s NOT you—it’s the missing systems.Comment TIDY to get a 15-minute daily tidying system that will make your life easier!#ADHDmom #ADHDlife #ADHDwomen #ADHDsupport #ADHDawareness by @caro.thor

The ADHD shame loop was keeping me isolated...Have you ever blocked a friend at the front door ...all because your space was messy? And you keep thinking, what would those neurotypicals think of me? But the truth is…This has nothing to do with laziness! Your brain works on a different frequency.A frequency that feels fast, scattered, and urgent. And a messy kitchen is a visible reminder of everything you haven’t managed to keep up with because of the brain noise. So you cancel plans and suggest meeting out instead. You wait for “one day when it’s all sorted”.And that day never comes around. If this resonates, your brain is not broken.Clutter just hits differently when you’re neurodivergent. The trick that helped me find my spark? Organise in a way that lowers the overwhelm. Not increase it.And this means, organising just enough to feel better. Not to be PERFECT. Organised enough means…✅ You can find what you need✅ Surfaces aren’t shouting at you✅ The room feels manageable✅ Your nervous system feels calmerThat’s it.Not perfect or minimalist.Just enough so that you can breathe in your space, and maybe let unexpected visitors in on the good days Start with one small area for 15 minutes.Comment TIDY if you want to learn how #adhdsolutions #adhdtips #adhdmom #adhdwoman #adhdinwomen by @caro.thor

This is the part of ADHD masking no one talks about. We exhaust ourselves trying to look like we have it all together. We channel every ounce of masking energy into being the “organized woman”...the one who has a pristine living room. So when the urge to clean hits you go all in.You start. You’re in it. Things are happening. But when hyperfocus abruptly shuts off mid-decluttering? You’re left sitting on the floor, surrounded by everything you own, wondering what’s wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with you. Here are 3 tips for when hyperfocus deserts you mid-project: 1. Do not try to push through. Stop on purpose. Trying to force your brain through an ADHD energy drop just to prove you can “finish like a normal person” is a recipe for burnout. Stopping is not quitting. It’s unmasking and practicing self-regulation. 2. Celebrate the fact that you started. This is HUGE! Validate how much energy it took to start. For an ADHD brain, breaking through executive dysfunction to initiate a task is a massive victory. Any progress counts, even if it doesn’t look “finished.” 3. Create a guilt-free pause point. Stack items together. Put everything back into one basket or pile. Or just leave it as it is. So what if there’s a mess! It’s part of the process. Leave the room knowing exactly where you’ll restart next time. This happens to ADHD women all the time. It doesn’t mean you’re bad at decluttering. It just means your brain works in waves. 📌 Save this for the next time your hyperfocus deserts you, so you can remind yourself that you are allowed to rest. #adhdwomen #adhdmemes #adhdhelp #adhdtips #adhdsupport by @caro.thor

👇 Okay, can I tell you something? The dirty dishes, the 10 mugs of cold tea,the graveyard of half-used notebooks...It’s the least interesting thing about you. 😅I’ve spent years inside ADHD women’shomes, and I find the same thing everysingle time…❤ The bigger the doom pile, the morebrilliant the woman standing next to it.The truth is…You forget the boring jobs because you’reoff doing the clever, creative, ‘three-steps-ahead’ thing you do WAY better than anyone else. That’s where all your energy goes, andthank goodness it does. And okay, most days you feel like a chaotichot mess…But every tidying trick you’ve ever triedwas built for a brain that works differentlyto yours. No wonder none of it stuck. But I teach a way of decluttering that’s builtfor how an ADHD brain actually works, sothis time it holds. 🩵🙋‍♀️ Follow along if this is you!#adhdwoman #womenwithadhd#adhdlifehacks #adhdhacks #adhdtrib by @caro.thor

What if you’ve spent years blaming the wrong thing? If you have ADHD, I think you probably have. For years, I thought the answer was to try harder.Be more disciplined.Find the perfect system.Get more organised. Maybe you’ve thought the same? But after working with hundreds of women with ADHD, I’ve realised something... Most of us don’t have an information problem. We already know we should start small. We know we should declutter one category at a time.We know routines help.We know what we’re supposed to do. So why do so many of us still feel stuck? Because knowing what to do isn’t the same as being able to do it consistently with an ADHD brain. So we blame ourselves. We tell ourselves we’re lazy.Unmotivated.Hopeless.A failure. When maybe we’ve been blaming the wrong thing all along. Maybe the problem isn’t that you haven’t found the right decluttering method. Maybe it’s that you’ve been trying to do something incredibly difficult without the support your brain actually needs. I wonder how many ADHD women would stop feeling broken if they realised that. If this resonated with you, comment SEEN below. I’d love you to know you’re not the only one. 💜 #adhdwoman #womenwithadhd#adhdlifehacks #adhdhacks #adhdtribe by @caro.thor

Twelve years ago, I sat on my bedroom floor surrounded by mountains of clothes, clutching Marie Kondo’s book like it was a lifeline.I genuinely believed decluttering would fix everything. It didn’t. Because decluttering and staying organised are two very different things, especially when you’re juggling kids, constant interruptions and an ADHD brain. Less stuff helped. But what really changed everything was stopping trying to force myself into systems that simply weren’t designed for how my brain worked. Instead, I started creating systems that worked with me, not against me. When I became a professional organizer, I noticed the same pattern over and over again. The women I worked with weren’t dreaming of colour-coded pantries or perfectly labelled bins. They just wanted to breathe when they walked through their front door. They wanted to stop feeling behind. To stop feeling guilty. To stop believing they were the problem. That’s why I created this page. Because every ADHD mum deserves practical support, realistic systems and a space where she never has to feel judged. Maybe my butterfly effect started with buying a book.Maybe yours is stumbling across this reel today. If your home feels heavy, I hope you’ll stick around. You’re not the problem. 💛 #adhdwoman #womenwithadhd#adhdlifehacks #adhdhacks #adhdtribe by @caro.thor

🧊 If you’ve ever been frozen between a jobyou started and a job you can’t finish… this isfor you.The half-sorted doom pile is almost worsethan the untouched one.Because now the decisions are everywhere. This pile, that pile, the “I don’t know wherethis goes” pile. And your brain just… stops. 🫠🥶 This is what we call the ADHD freeze…Too many open loops, no clear next step, and a brain that needs one to move.So it stalls. And you sit there with cold tea, feeling likeyou’ve failed at something you didn’t evenget to properly start. But you haven’t failed. You’ve just never been shown a way thatworks with your ADHD brain instead ofagainst it. 💛👉 Comment “RESET” and I’ll send you the free 15-Minute ADHD Declutter Kickstart for all the freeze days, like this one.#adhdwomen #adhdmum #adhdorganisation #declutteringwithadhd#adhdsupport by @caro.thor
