I have NEVER been this excited about an oliebol. 😂🍩

My only motivation today to jump into this 13°C lake?
To make it to Ciao Gluten in time to score at least ONE gluten-free oliebol. 🥶🏊‍♀️➡️🍩

Plot twist: I got TWO.
Then cycled home as fast as possible, made a cup of tea… and had the official verdict with my daughter:

“I could definitely have had a second one.”
- both of us. 😂

Seriously, you HAVE to try these - whether you’re coeliac, gluten-free, gluten-light… or happily eating gluten. 😉

Mirko, you made my day. Grazie! ❤️🍩

Kaasfondue 2.0! Zonder fonduepan, mét pompoen! 🎃🧀

Trop bon! 🇫🇷

📌Bewaar dit recept voor een herfstavond! Met wie zou jij deze fondue eten? 👇

Bon appétit!

🫕 More fondue moments in the Vijfhoek

Something new is happening in the Vijfhoek, where Ti Bisou Crêpes Boutique used to serve galettes & crêpes. And if you love cheese, you’re going to want to know about it. 👀

From one generation to the next, Elise’s family has been serving fondue & raclette at one of Haarlem’s oldest restaurants, right here in the Vijfhoek, in the Korte Houtstraat. 🧀

Elise’s had her shop here since last year and from today, there’s a delicious new concept: broodjes kaasfondue van Het Goede Uur. Basically, the kind of lunch you want when autumn arrives, the wind picks up and your coat suddenly feels like a blanket. 🍂🥖🧀

No table available at the restaurant for dinner?
Grab a fondue-filled baguette for lunch in the ‘winkel’
Or take a fondue home and make it your dinner. 🫕🏠

Basically… no more excuses not to eat fondue. 😏

Go give Elise & her team some love and warm up your lunch break in Haarlem❤️

Good vibes. Good food. Good people.
And a whole lot of melted cheese. 🧀 by @carole_frenchie

Normandy is also a lot of green. 🌿

Even if, by the end of this summer, the effects of the drought were much more noticeable than during our last family visit in May, the landscape still has that lush, peaceful beauty we love.

And during our few days here, we were lucky enough to get quite a bit of rain - enough to refresh nature, and, conveniently, to help us focus a little more on work and our projects. 😉

Another thing Normandy is very good at? Feeding us incredibly well. 🧈 From butter and fresh cream to local cheeses and oysters… a delicious reminder that this is a region where simple, generous food is very much part of the experience.

A few days of nature, rain, good food and getting things done. Not a bad combination at all. 💚

Every day - no, every hour - no, every minute, this little stretch of the Normandy coast puts on a different show.

A magical light, ever-changing colours, contrasts and shadows… a natural palette that has inspired painters, photographers, and countless passers-by.

And now, me too - having first discovered this beautiful corner of the Normandy coast last May, and coming back again this week. Merci, Pat & Chris, for making this happen! ❤️

Bonjour 🕊️

It’s been almost a year since I closed Ti Bisou, and it’s been a while since I last posted.

Since then, I still see the team regularly, and I often run into former guests around town. Some of them have become true friends. Ti Bisou may have closed its doors for now, but the memories, the friendships, the sense of family, and the spirit of Ti Bisou live on.

And then there was Rudy.

Rudy wasn’t just a loyal guest. From the very first days of Ti Bisou, he was there - almost every single day, before or after his shifts at @klm He grew alongside Ti Bisou and alongside all of us. Before long, he wasn’t simply a guest anymore; he had become part of the team, part of the boutique (and even part of the furniture as we used to say for fun 😉), part of our family. Everyone knew him, and everyone loved him.

Ti Bisou also became the place where Rudy discovered his passion for photography. It started with photos of our crêpes and galettes, and week after week he would proudly share beautiful images of every new special, galette, crêpe, or mocktail. We even created a special “Rudy Complète” galette just for him.

Later, he began taking portraits and beautifully captured Sarah’s window drawings (@studio.atoche ) always finding a way to highlight the creativity and soul of Ti Bisou. He had a remarkable gift for making people, food, and moments shine.

He even had ‘his’ seat. At first, it was by the kitchen and the counter, right where all the action happened. Later, when we moved the brown armchair closer to the front door, that became his new spot, where he could watch guests coming and going, the terrace filling up, and enjoy the best seat in the house to take in everything that made Ti Bisou so special.

When Ti Bisou closed, Rudy bought one of our banquettes so he could recreate a little corner of Ti Bisou in his own home. >>> (swipe for full text)

Since March, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him regularly again at @frenchiehaarlem Frenchie, where I’ve been helping Lisa & Tim’s team a few days a week while Amber has been on maternity leave. Just like Ti Bisou, Frenchie became an extension of his home, with his own dedicated seat at the bar. The last ti by @carole_frenchie

19 ans aujourd’hui.
Le premier anniversaire sans toi.

Text in NL 🇳🇱en UK 🇬🇧 ⤵️ comments

From the North Sea to the Channel, a quick dip around Arcachon Bay and through the Atlantic waves, and chilly swims with seagulls in a peaceful lake near Haarlem… what a joy to swim in open water without a wetsuit, even in winter (that’s the challenge!).

Great for the immune system, fresh air, feeling alive… or slightly frozen 😅

Still, I’m not as tough as the seal 🦭 we met yesterday in Zandvoort, casually sunbathing like it was the French Riviera.

A few weeks ago at Cap Ferret, the water was already 11–12°C… we’re getting there in the Netherlands too. Crossing that 10°C line really hits different.

Golden rule: 1 degree = 1 minute. But hey, it’s spring 🌸 More swims, longer swims… who’s in? 🌊 by @carole_frenchie

🥞✨ Chandeleur – 2 februari ✨🥞

In Frankrijk is La Chandeleur hét grote crêpes-feest.
veel good vibes, lachende gezichten en warme familiemomenten 💛

________________________________________
🌿 Ingrediënten (bij voorkeur biologisch)

• 250 g tarwebloem (of glutenvrij)
• 5 g fijn zout
• 75 g suiker
• 2 eieren
• 12,5 g gezouten boter
• 50 cl halfvolle of volle melk
• 1 tl vanille-aroma

🥣 Bereiding
