✨🎉 Announcing! 🎉✨

Capybaras?! Count us in! We can’t wait for LITTLE CAPY: A Day in the Life of a Young Capybara, to be illustrated by our very own Carolina Coroa, written by Janet Lawler! Coming to bookshelves everywhere in the fall of 2027 from @charlesbridgepublishing! ✨🎉

@carolinacoroa @janetlawlerkidsauthor

Alyssa Mito Pusey at Charlesbridge has bought world rights to the picture book Little Capy: A Day in the Life of a Young Capybara by Janet Lawler, and Cathleen Schaad has acquired world rights for illustration by Carolina Coroa. The rhyming story follows a young capybara as she goes about her day—eating, socializing, playing, and escaping danger—before settling down for the night. Publication is scheduled for fall 2027; Anne Moore Armstrong at the Bright Agency represented the author, and Christie Megill at the CAT Agency represented the illustrator. by @carolinacoroa

My dream project has a cover now!

Seven-year-old Astra Nightingale dreams of becoming an investigator, just like the rest of her family. But there’s one problem: she hasn’t found her animal kin, the lifelong companion every Nightingale must discover before beginning their training.

When her search comes up empty, Astra retreats to the family treehouse, where, inspired by her grandmother, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She sets out to solve her very first case: the mysterious disappearance of a cat named Gaspar.

But this is no ordinary case. As Astra follows the clues, she discovers that the partner she’s been searching for may have been closer than she ever imagined. Solving the mystery marks the beginning of an extraordinary partnership, and Astra’s first step into the Nightingale family legacy.

Astra & Gaspar is a middle grade graphic novel and looking for a publishing house! Talk to my agent @christiemegillbooks for more info!

Sneak a peek of my OC Astra Nightingale, named after my lovely neighborhood street here in London - and one of Raye’s songs! Astra is a bold, curious and a bit stubborn 7 years old, the youngest in a family of famous investigators.

This is my 2nd delivery for the @inkygoodness ‘ assignment. I am working hard to finish the course with a pitch 💙

Am I late for #PortfolioDay? I hope not!

Oi! I’m Carolina, a children’s book illustrator and a visual development artist from north of Brazil based in London, UK. I love traveling, cinema, nature and sea side, and I’m a mum of 2 boys.

I began my career in the fashion industry as a print & pattern designer, but somewhere along the line, my sketchbooks — which were quietly overflowing with quirky characters — decided it was time to stage a takeover.

I’m proudly represented by Christie Megill at The Cat Agency, and my art has travelled the globe to collaborate with wonderful clients like Disney Hyperion, Scholastic, Netflix and BBC.

At the heart of everything I do is a love for creating diverse, playful, and deeply heartfelt art. I’m always looking forward for the next big creative adventure, and my biggest one yet is officially underway as I take the leap into the world of becoming an author-illustrator. by @carolinacoroa
