A love letter to Miss UL 2026, from the girl in red 💌💋Ever since I first stepped onto that stage my freshman year, Miss UL has held such a special place in my heart. It’s crazy to think this is only my second time competing. I never did pageants growing up, but somehow, it’s become something I’ve fallen so deeply in love with as an underclassman at UL. This semester has been one of the hardest for me, and Miss UL became my outlet. A place where I could breathe again. Ever since I stopped cheering in high school, there’s been a part of me that missed the stage, the bright lights, the glam, the energy, the smiles. Being back in that environment reminded me that my love for performing, for this sport, and for the game will never die.In the middle of the chaos of being a pre-med student, this program gave me confidence, joy, and introduced me to so many incredible people who inspire me every day. The opportunities this path has given me are something I will never take for granted, and the love I have for UPC and this program is something I could never put into words.A huge thank you to Club Tan for always making me feel my best, Alison for making me feel so beautiful and for being my biggest cheerleader, Ross for everything you do, UPC for putting on another incredible year, and Yusef for capturing it all so perfectly!I am beyond excited and grateful to have placed 2nd runner up this year. This moment means so much to me, not just for the placement, but for how far I’ve come. I am so proud of the growth and improvements I’ve made, and even more excited for what’s to come.
