My MCAS story! 😊 #mcas #mastcellactivationsyndrome #mcad #mastcellactivationdisorder by @carolinecrayy
What am I actually allergic to vs. what do my mast cells overreact to? Here is my attempt at explaining the difference. HOWEVER, I FORGOT TO MENTION that there’s ABSOLUTELY overlap between my allergies and my MCAS triggers (Example 1: I developed wayyy more allergies when I got sick with MCAS in 2017) (Example 2: My true blood allergies have become extremely severe since getting MCAS) (Example 3: My true blood allergies cause MCAS flare ups), but I tried to categorize this list for sake of simplicity/understanding! 😊 Also, here are some additional things that my mast cells have overreacted to in the past: • wood fires / smoke • makeup (especially lip products) • perfumes (some but not all) • incense at church • hand soap (some but not all) • hand sanitizer (some but not all) #mastcellactivationsyndrome #mcas #allergies #foodallergies #environmentalallergies by @carolinecrayy

Context: I asked this question during the Q&A portion of this panel of incredible MCAS, allergy, celiac, and alpha gal doctors. This is why I rave about Xolair!! Obviously this is not medical advice, but I wanted to share so that you can ask your doctor about it 😊 by @carolinecrayy
