The first part of the year was all about Lifted Live content…….

I’ve actually kinda missed it……. So here’s a little before, during and after shot…… Brow Lamination & Hybrid Dye……

I’ve got some new hybrid dyes coming and I’m excited to try them out 🖤🤍

I’ve got limited 1-1 training dates remaining between now and sept…. Maybe 2 dates left…. I’ll post about this on my stories this week…..

Where do I even begin… 🥹

Lifted Live on Sunday was honestly one of the most magical, perfect days.

I feel so grateful for every single person who showed up and invested in themselves, their growth, and their education. The energy in the room… you could feel it….

To say I was nervous is an understatement… I’ve never organised or hosted an event before, so stepping into this alongside Alex felt way out of my comfort zone. But because of every single one of you (and my ride or die Alex 🤍), the whole day flowed exactly how it was meant to.

This honestly wouldn’t have happened without Alex… she pushed me out of my comfort zone, championed me, and believed in me even in moments I doubted myself.

The part clients hate the most… but I secretly love. 😂

And no… not because it hurts. 🤣

It’s because this is the part that really finishes the brow off.

Waxing removes most of the unwanted hairs… but it never gets every single one.

It’s those last few little strays, especially the ones sitting just underneath the stain line, that make all the difference.

If it’s outside my shape… it’s coming out. 😂

Is it a bit spicy? Yes it is 🙈

But this is the bit I love because it’s all about attention to detail.

Taking the time to look from every angle and remove those last few tiny hairs that sit outside the shape is what gives you that really clean, crisp finish.

It might only be a few hairs… but they make a huge difference to the finished result. 🤍

Be Honest 🙈🙈

How much extra hydration are you adding to your clients brows during their Brow Lamination service?

If the answer is none then this is your sign to start adding in some extra steps during your service…..

Because let’s be honest no matter how much we all harp on about how important aftercare is to our clients they don’t always take our advice……

So I like to add in as much nourishment as I can at every stage of my lamination services….. from keratin infused cleansers, peptide enriched shampoos and conditioning masks - extra steps to keep my clients hairs as nourished and hydrated throughout this chemical process……

Imagine going to the hairdressers, getting a perm and leaving with rinsed hair only 🙈. Would never happen would it….

Brow lamination is a hydration stripping chemical process….. nourish those hairs at every step 🫶🫶🫶🫶

Do you know what I genuinely love about my job… 🫶

No two brows are ever the same.

I can perform brow laminations all day long, but every single client needs a different approach. It’s never just a case of following the same steps over and over.

Hair type, skin type, hair density, growth pattern, previous treatments, even what that client actually wants from their brows… it all changes how I approach the treatment.

That’s what keeps it interesting. Every appointment makes you think, adapt and work with what’s in front of you.

And I honestly think that’s why I still love what I do after all these years. 🤍

After 10 years of working in this industry, I’ve realised that minimum doesn’t always mean optimal.

A lot of manufacturers will say that brow laminations and lash lifts can be repeated after 6 weeks, and I do understand why they say this…….

Their recommendations have to be broad enough to cover the average client under ideal conditions… healthy hair, correct processing, client aftercare and no other contributing factors.

But let’s be honest… that’s not every client.

Hair growth cycles differ. Hair thickness differs. Porosity differs. Hormones, medication a whole lot of varying factors, even lifestyle can play a part in how that hair is going to respond to another chemical treatment.

And if we’re being really honest… not every client is following their aftercare to the letter every single day either 🙈

Just because a client’s lift has dropped or their brows have started to lose their shape doesn’t automatically mean the hair is ready to be chemically processed again.

And then there’s the whole “Cysteamine is safer so that makes it ok” - nope 👎 sorry not having any of that!

Whether you’re using TGA or cysteamine, they’re both reducing agents. Different ingredients, same job. They temporarily break the hair’s disulfide bonds so we can reshape the hair before those bonds are reformed.

By leaving longer between appointments, there’s generally been more natural hair turnover and, more importantly, it gives me the opportunity to properly assess the condition and integrity of the hair before deciding whether another chemical service is actually appropriate.

My rule is simple…

I won’t re-laminate brows or re-lift lashes before 8 weeks.

Not because I think every client suddenly becomes “safe” at 8 weeks, but because it gives me a better opportunity to make a professional judgement based on the condition of the hair, not just the date of the last appointment.

The calendar should never make the decision.

The condition of the hair should.

I’d much rather protect the long-term health of my clients brows and lashes than fit another appointment into the diary just because six weeks have passed.

A little reminder for my fellow brow artists because this UK heat is no joke…

If your salon or cabin is hotter than normal, your lamination products are likely to work quicker too.
Don’t rely on timings, watch those hairs like a hawk 👀 because the risk of over processing right now is scary REAL.

And for my gorgeous laminated brow clients… now is the time to look after them. Heat, sun, chlorine and holidays can all leave laminated brows feeling dry, so keep them conditioned and nourished. A good brow serum or oil will make all the difference.

This weather is amazing… but this is one of those times of year where a little extra care goes a long way.
