Sticks and Stones, Puddles is a food installation and a celebratory invitation, performing memories of beloved sticks and stones, gathered during travels. The act of collecting is translated into an archive of memory, to create a memory for the ones who are transitioning to new. I so thank you for the invite!

The food on the table, referencing a specific photographs or the narratives of an items act as a deliberate nod to building intentional connections around one. It asks you to look, explore and touch together. It invites consideration around how we create idiosyncratic measurements of understanding accumulation, importance, and the layered complexities of life by identifying the very things that provide meaning and order within our personal universes.

I gravitated to this subject,
what most consider an object.
I see myself with it.
Shows me what has been.
Accepting me
to hold, carry, lean.

I love you, you drifted ones, dropped ones.
Squeezed in the palm, until edges soften,
until fear turns to weight, and weight to shelter.

We found them when we laughed,
skipping words, staring into muddy water.
That same hyperfocus,
sampling a beat where others hear noise.
We sing to each other.

These elements track peace in transitions and moments of sensory rest. Some of these subjects; sticks and stones, are kept and left around their natural surroundings, returned to the ground. While many are kept in personal spaces like their homes to hold structure. Here, they are for your wonder and to share.

asking people to rest and rebel
quiet sticky wet and windy situation
no smoke is left
no fuel is left
we are listening

the working group climbs up to the mountain
with earphones
this day is for rest
we start a together
a playlist we have listened
daily now for a while

we dress to same gear
we lay and load
we gather stones and cole
and ask what is our mark
as leaving no trace is impossible
the gesture is hidden, not served.

from the kanon
if u look close, the treat is there;
you can find
•ginger and lemon cest lollipops
•ground cover pockets with cardamom, fennel and ginger

look for it, many leave

”why are we not served?”

hypocrisy is stated
would you search for a solution with me?

smiles are shared not given

hands are sticky and guey and the cole follows

calling from the mountain top
kanon is on, we get dressed
and the feast is served
everybody finds their station
clock in and shine

we are called angels and godly beings
we smile and nod
yap and share contacts
we are asking people to fuel up
they come in hyped crowds and wander on top alone
people stay and leave
with new friends

celebratory and generous weather
three points are created
people come and ask about the work
from the points that hold the fire, the food, the welcome.

people are moved,
some even cry given the gesture;

•pickled vegetables
•red curry kimchi
•red onion pie
•ash potatoes
(with seaweed, dill, nettle, sesame seeds)
•beetroot manna
•whiskey pineapple pound cake
•birch sap drink

we hold connection point for 3h
sunset is beautiful
fulfillment enters the tired body
an earlier night feels like a morning

HALLO! LONG TIME NO RADIO!

Almost 40c in @radioruit studio last friday was packing different levels of heat! 💦 First time on decks in Belgium was so much fun and cannot wait for all the adventures and cute sessions to come in this part of the world! Thank you for having me, and for the invitation @lisa__margodt !

The idea for this session came from the need for the pre party post work friday afternoon thingy, when you need that extra push of energy. To have a great weekend you need to land correctly, shake body is the recipe - tell them suinner said.
