Photographed here by @pedrowazzan in my natural habitat ~ My Garden from which I draw a great deal of creativity. Nature inspires me. Its quiet liveliness is a constant source of creative visions. I look at a tree, a plant or a flower, and ideas come.

I love Nature I am Nature and I see myself in Nature, in all my duality- a fertile and benevolent side alongside a strange and aloof one.

In Collage as Symbol, you’ll explore the art of papier collé using paper, magazines, and glue to create your own unique composition. Through guided exercises, participants will engage in a creative process rooted in reflection, experimentation, and personal expression, culminating in a group review and conversation around each work.

All materials are included, and no prior experience is necessary.

In this collage-making workshop, you’ll follow a unique method developed by artist-instructor @caroljazzar, designed to ensure your final artwork comes together unexpectedly. No art background is required—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment. You’ll be guided through engaging techniques that encourage spontaneity and creative discovery, leading to unpredictable results. All necessary materials will be provided, so you can focus on unleashing your creativity. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or new to the world of art, this workshop offers a fun and supportive atmosphere to connect with fellow participants and enjoy the process of making art together. Translation available in Spanish and French.

Come ready to explore, create, and be amazed by what you can achieve!

Carol Jazzar is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in El Portal. She started making collage in 2012 as a means for inner exploration and self-development. This practice has been a creative path allowing her to practice self-analysis and to experience personal and artistic goal. In 2023, she published a book titled All (W-hole) of Me, healing through Art, the art of deconstructing and recreating oneself. featuring her latest collage series as well as a conversation with Lacanian psychoanalyst Karina Tenenbaum, and two essays; one by curator and art historian Tami Katz-Freiman, the other by M.Keely Sutton, an historian specializing in Hinduism . As a whole the book demonstrates a unique inquiry into the creative impulse and its processes.

Grateful for a month long residency @massmoca. Thanks to @oolitearts for this wonderful opportunity.

It allowed me to take a step back from my practice- and life in general.

The residency allowed me to finish a hand-made book — an intimate & educational journal spanning one year based on astrology. I also fleshed out ideas for a new installation/ site specific.

I explored the area- near and far. Went to visit my friend @wendywischer_art in her awesome property in the woods. I also received a visit from @schollcreative John & Mary Luff, and Nina Weber Worth & her husband

There was good camaraderie among the residents- a female cohort this time around with fun dinner parties and good conversations.Till next sisters! @beatrizchachamovits @jamielehrhofflevine @luciamorales_art @karenrifas @yomarie_silva_oneal @sepidehklni @le_hien_minh @aatsubo @mev_merized
