I am a SAHM who's taken up writing to share the stories bouncing around in my head

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yes I stayed up till 2 am the other night working on wip 3.

Is that draft done yet? No. I still have 1.5 chapters to go.

Am I ready for this one to be done for now? Yes

Sir Roderic may try to come across as grumpy old knight to the general public. But he's really a cinnamon roll. And he does have some words of wisdom for Sir Avery.

Sir Roderic may be one of my favorite side characters. I'm going to have to writr his story one of these days. Probably not a full book. But he ought to have his story told. I'm collecting short stories from people and events in my world. Someday I'll have enough for a companion book.

I tried asking my husband questions about me. I don’t think he took it very seriously. We had some giggles over his answers (he was sitting across the room from me and giggling every so often).

I'm not sure I agree with some of his answers (ugly 70s mustsrd??? Why?!?!?!)

But it was fun!

That moment you get distracted figuring out the birthdays and anniversaries for every character in your series....

Instead of doing the dishes

I was supposed to be on a 5 minute break, trying to do the Pomodoro method. Apparently I forgot to set a timer.

And yes I was including side characters that are only mentioned a few times. Because I guess my brain needed all the info.

Also, I mentioned out loud I still needed to figure out a birthday for Lysa (sister to fmc in book 4) and my husband thought that sounded like a really weird name.

So my question for you is, keep her name Lysa or change it?

I'm still a little shocked at what I've accomplished in a little less than 11 months.

Too many nights to count staying up writing until 2 am, so caught up in getting the stories out of my head that I completely lost track of what time it was.

Too many times rereading what I've written- editing, cutting, polishing.

Getting the basic ideas for even more books jotted down so they'd hopefully quit demanding attention long enough to get these others I've started finished.

Countless Marco Polo's with a cousin who's also writing an awesome book discussing plot ideas.

9 of those 11 months I was also homeschooling my 4 kids. And keeping up with housework, cooking, driving to all the places (when you live in the middle of nowhere there is soo much time spent driving), and keeping up with being one of my church's youth leaders.

Now that my kids are back in school I'm also going to all the ball games and school events, teaching myself how to draw, and more.

Makes me wonder where I'll be with my writing by November 13, 2027...

I'm hoping if I have my favorite drink and my nice fuzzy cow blanket and everything set up on my couch, that I can motivate myself to finish putting away the laundry. I
f I finish putting away the laundry then I could drink the yummy drink and work on my book.

Wish me luck on getting laundry done.

Heres a glimpse at my mood board for The Knight and the Wren. Knights and ladies. Tournament. Sword fighting... all the medieval vibes.

I may have spent too much time on Pinterest making mood boards for my books... and character art inspiration boards.

You would think that when I was at the Arizona Ren Faire earlier this year I'd have got all sorts of cool footage that I could use to help promote my medieval themed series.

Nope.

I got this video of my kids performing with a fiddler, another of them riding horses, and a video of my daughter meeting the mermaid. And a picture of a loom. I'm not so good at pulling my phone out to get pictures and videos apparently.

I'm wishing I got footage of the jousting and things like that.

It had been gloriously rainy all yesterday, through the night, and into today. Its supposed to keep raining all day. Rain like this makes me want to curl up with a cup of cocoa and a book.

Question is do I read a new book, or work on writing my books?

Also, what do you like to do on rainy autumn days?

I can't believe its been 25 years since the 9/11 attacks.

I was 10 years old, living in AZ and homeschooled. I walked into my moms room to find her at the comouter crying watching videos of the towers burning.

I remember her telling me bad men crashed planes into the towers.

I have an image of one of the jumpers stuck in my head and mom telling me theyd rather fall to their death than burn.

Next thing I remember is being in the other room hiding under a table terrifed and realzing the world will never be the same again. I dont know how oblivious me knew that, but I did.

I will never forget the terror of that day.

Trying to get this wip's 1st draft finished. I've got 8 more book ideas bouncing around in my head.

Unfortunately I can't write fast enough to keep up with the incoming plot ideas.
Especially while editing book 1.
And raising 4 kids.
Who's also the house cleaner, chef, chauffeur, laundress, office assistant (one of my husband's jobs requires an annoyingly large amount of paperwork... pulling permits, making invoices... yuck)

I just hope once I get all these books published you guys will have as much fun reading them as I am writing them!

You guys have no idea how excited I am that my Callum and Maeve bookmarks have arrived!! 🥰😍

I know I've shared about @mknzgmbn characters in my stories, and in my draw this in your style entry post. But seriously if you havent checked out all the artwork she has done of these two, you NEED to go now! Even before she announced that there will be a book for them I was invested in their story. @jlmcgarty
is writing The Wildflower Knight right now.

Because of Kenzie's artwork of these two, I've been inspired to try my hand at artwork for my characters. I'll share what I have soon. Just remember I'm still very much a beginner artist lol by @carolynhansenauthor
