Got this fun news today. And I’ve been reflecting a lot about my identity as a writer and why I do it…I’ve been writing since I was a kid (swipe for the cutest kid you’ve ever seen).I’d write letters and poems to the adults around me because I wanted them to know how magical they were. It brought me so much joy. I think my little soul was conscious of the fact that adults seldom communicate truth to each other. I wanted them to feel seen. So in my words, I’d specify exactly what I believed made them so valuable to the world and to me. That’s still a major part of why I write today. I write to make sense of the human experience, but I also write because I hope it’ll help one person feel seen in something they may be afraid to say out loud. Being a human is hard fckn work. It’s fruitful, but it’s challenging. And doing it alone can be painful. I write to offer communion. Grateful for the continued recognition for PENDEJA while it’s still in screenplay form. Now I gotta make this shit 🤸🏽‍♀️ by @caroquz

Tomorrow at 7PM PT, we share No More Excuses with you all. It dawned on me—this is the first thing of my own I’ve made in LA. I first got here thinking I’d never build a creative community like the one I left in New York. January marked my 3rd year in this city, and holy shieeeet, it finally feels like home. I can finally say I have people I can call real quick to make something dope with, or to vent my self-doubt to when it’s too overwhelming to carry.No More Excuses is only 3 minutes long, so I hope you’ll watch it tomorrow and reshare the fuck out of it so we can all get hired again ya dig ♥️♥️♥️BTS by the incomparable @chefsunnylove by @caroquz
