Wow! What a weekend! The organizers of the first-ever blind hockey camp and try-it event in Prague have a LOT to be proud of! I am pretty sure there were nearly 50 visually impaired people taking part. Thanks also to the tens of volunteers who came and helped everyone! Participants were so proud to pull on a Czech hockey shirt with their own name on it. I even got one! 🇨🇿 I also met a couple of women who played for Czechia at the 2022 World Ringette Championships in Espoo. I recognized them! The world is small! 🤩

Matt and Luca from Canadian Blind Hockey were along to make sure the higher level logistics were taken care of and the groups were divided properly. I ran yesterday's afternoon session and all everyone (who were able) wanted to do was play, so they did. It was truly gratifying to see how many people were thankful for the opportunity. I gave my stick to a young guy, Lucas, and he was very happy. 😁 I skated with another man who was blind and he said he thought it was so cool because he had never skated so fast before. 😁 The people who played yesterday afternoon put in two hours, they loved it! I hope we can do this again! Greetings from Prague! 🇨🇿🏒 Today we had over 50 people, plus volunteers helping on the ice. Lots of people came to try skating, many for the first time!! The Czechs have a few future stars in #blindhockey should they continue to go down that road! This is how we grow the game! #hockeyisforeveryone #growthegame #czechia 🏒 by @carpekka

Saturday and Sunday with the junior #ringette crew! Saturday mini-games with @blueringse in Tuusula and Sunday with @huntersjuniorsringette in Matinkylä. It's amazing to see the difference between last season and this season. And we're just getting started! @kiekkoespooringette15eps #kiekkoespoo #kivikova #coaching @kiekkoespooringette 💙 by @carpekka

As a coach you sometimes have to make a decision that might be unpopular with the players, but yesterday I made the right one. This crew had a practice game and almost everyone signed up to play, so I split them into two groups and they each played half the game. It was absolutely the right decision. They played hard and were able to concentrate because of the quick shift changes. Result: they won, and they were all really happy. 😁🤩 Well done @kiekkoespooringette15eps! 💙 #ringette #coaching #kiekkoespoo #kivikova #U12ringette by @carpekka
