@flat6.car.emotion for some engine diagnostics, part of the hobby as a amateur mechanic. Doesn’t pull at the top end, I am guessing it’s the pump, but I am not 100% certain. Let’s see what comes out. Great picture with my old 996 Turbo. taken in Elixhausen, Salzburg, Austria by @carplebs_

Major service completed:

• Motul Gear 300
• Bosch plugs
• BMC filter
• RSS engine mounts
• PASM dampers
• Stainless brake lines
• Zimmermann discs

Mezger coolant line pinning — one of those jobs that looks small, but can prevent a very expensive and dangerous failure.

On the GT1/Mezger-based engines, the factory coolant pipes are bonded into the housings. Over time, heat cycles, pressure, vibration and age can cause them to let go. If that happens on the road, you lose coolant fast. If it happens on track, it can dump coolant under the rear tires — and that can end very badly.

This is why I drilled, tapped and mechanically pinned the coolant fittings. The goal is simple: do not rely only on adhesive when the consequence of failure is this serious.

Preventive maintenance > catastrophic failure.
