New hardware work for @keikagami_

This is a privately ordered denim fencing jacket (version 2), decorated with silver buttons and silver avian studs, all individually handcrafted by me in the studio

Kei has been a very generous mentor for my hardware work and career for the last year. Hopefully many more projects to come

Good Friday Collection.

A cross formed from three nails. Cast in sterling silver, with a mould with soil from my church grounds mixed in.

Made for a very special client this time last year.
An accompanying nail ring was made to sit alongside it.

Shrapnel Button Necklace 2
SOLD — Handcrafted Sterling Silver
A continuation of my shrapnel buttons exploration, but a larger pendant and a heavier duty chain. This piece was two very differently designed buttons being replicated through the sand casting process, and conjoined at the hip. The beauty of their mismatch is very exciting to me. Feel free to take it off its chain and put it on your clothes when you are done with it being a necklace

Shrapnel Button Necklace 1
SOLD — Handcrafted Sterling Silver
Originally designed for the @s0ma_f debut collection, these shrapnel buttons found new life when I made them for myself in silver. They became a perfect intersection of my jewellery and hardware design and were then elevated to their jewellery status by the addition of a simple chain.
That said, you could just as easily wear it as a button on a jacket. I’d be delighted to see it reappropriated as hardware if you wished. by @carraic_

Double Button Brooch

SOLD

Handcrafted sterling silver pair of buttons hanging from a silver needle.

This piece is sitting on a coat that will be revealed and available very soon.
For the last two years I’ve specialised my jewellery work in hardware for fashion, exploring its relevance and innovation. A funny thing I’ve found is that despite all my attempts to reinvent the wheel, the wheel’s done quite well. No matter what kind of fuck or screw based mechanism I come up with, it only becomes clearer with each project that the button is an incredible closure.
Over time I’ve found myself making more and more specialised buttons for designers, even though at first I was drawn to more complex things like clasps. I even have buttons made only for specific people I work with, like Kei Kagami, and somewhere along the way I started accepting the nickname the button man.
I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m happy to have been the button man for you all these past few years.
This brooch is in honour of that by @carraic_

I’m thrilled announce that I have been selected to be one of five jewellers to have been awarded a Small Business Catalyst Grant by the @gsmithscentre to grow the infrastructure of my
business.
Over the next year, I’ll be using my grant to build a network of machines and jewellers to help fulfill the demands of projects I would have otherwise had to turn down.

The grants are funded via the @goldsmithsfoundation.

Another pair of size adjustable rings found their home on the genius hands of @elie5para
These were some of the first pieces I finished after graduating and I didn’t want to let them go
But they landed exactly where they were meant to

@paradoxeparis has backed some of my closest friends since the start
It means a lot to be here witnessing it and being a part of that taken in Paradoxe Paris by @carraic_
