It’s hard to believe I’m officially passing on my county fair queen crown. I’ve let it sink in over the last few days, but it still hits just as hard. This past year was nothing short of life changing. I experienced things I’ll never forget, grew in ways I didn’t expect, and had the chance to represent a community that means everything to me.

Being queen was more than a sash and a crown. It was showing up, giving back, connecting with people, and embracing every moment. I’m proud of the year I had and the memories I made. From community events to fair week to meeting so many amazing people, every moment reminded me how lucky I was to hold this role.

This year also gave me one more chance to be involved in my county’s Achievement Show, one more year to be part of the place where I grew up showing, learning, and finding my passion for agriculture. Walking through the barns again, talking with exhibitors, and feeling that familiar excitement meant more to me than most people realize. It felt like a final gift, a chance to soak it all in one last time before closing this chapter for good.

As I hand this crown over, I’m emotional, grateful, and excited to watch the next queen shine. Congratulations to Brenna Throndson. I know you will represent our county with pride, kindness, and confidence.

Closing this chapter with a full heart and so much gratitude for everyone who supported me along the way. by @carrieschwickerath
