🌸 Why is it emotional art?

Because it’s all about stories, yours to be exact.
I take the stories of your journey, draw out those raw emotions, and transfer them onto your skin, forever.

With color and creativity as my tools, I turn your feelings into art that’s as unique as you are šŸŽØ

Have you had any emotional experiences while getting tattooed? 🌸

Part 2 of Chanelle’s sleeve transformation.

A few weeks ago I shared the beginning of this journey, where Chanel came to me looking to refresh and reconnect two tattooed arms that no longer felt like her. The goal is to keep some of the existing work, soften and refine other areas, introduce rich blues, and use black elements to create a stronger, more cohesive flow throughout both sleeves.

Today was our second session. The mermaid has now fully healed, giving us the perfect foundation to move forward with the blue sections.

As always, colour work is never just about choosing a shade from a bottle. A big part of the process is understanding how colours behave on each individual skin tone. We spent time testing and comparing different blues directly on the skin to find the tones that would heal beautifully, complement the existing work, and create the depth and movement we’re aiming for.

Every large transformation is built one step at a time, and seeing this project slowly come together is incredibly rewarding.

More progress coming soon. šŸ’™šŸ–¤ by @carrybizz

Some tattoos are designed to be appreciated as a whole.

This back piece is one of them. Every flower, every line, every detail was planned to work together as a single composition.

But I have to admit… sometimes my favourite views aren’t the full view at all.

Sometimes it’s the side angles, the little glimpses of detail, the way a flower wraps around a curve or how a line follows the natural movement of the body. Those unexpected perspectives can be incredibly elegant, and sometimes a very sexy too.

A tattoo shouldn’t only work when you’re standing perfectly still facing a camera. It should move with you, complement your shape, and reveal different details from every angle.

Because real life isn’t made of perfect front-on photos. It’s made of movement, curves, and those little moments where just a small part of the artwork catches someone’s eye.

And I think that’s where the magic often happens. ✨ taken in Perth, Western Australia by @carrybizz

🪻 She came to me because her existing tattoos no longer felt like her.

The original mermaid piece had sentimental potential, but it was missing the things that make a tattoo truly timeless: detail, refinement, flow, and intentional design. Some elements felt unfinished, some lacked elegance, and overall the tattoos on both arms felt like separate stories rather than one cohesive vision.

So instead of thinking in ā€œsingle tattoo fixes,ā€ we started thinking in full-arm architecture.

The goal?
To transform a collection of disconnected tattoos — including areas that will eventually be reworked through blackout and cover-up design — into two arms that feel balanced, cohesive, and intentionally connected.

This post shows the journey:
→ the before
→ the concept project I presented
→ and the beginning of the transformation.

Because sometimes tattooing isn’t about adding more.
It’s about creating clarity, harmony, and a design language that finally makes everything belong together.

This is what I love most about transformational work: not just covering or fixing… but reimagining the whole story.

If you’ve got tattoos that no longer feel connected, elegant, or representative of who you are now… I’d love to help you rethink the bigger picture. šŸ–¤ taken in Perth, Western Australia by @carrybizz

The things that inspire me are rarely random 🌸

Lace. Soft textures. Polka dots. Orchids. Peonies.
A little femininity, a little contrast, a little chaos, a little elegance.

I like surrounding myself with the things that make me feel creatively alive while I work… because inspiration has a way of slipping into the art when you least expect it ✨ taken in Perth, Western Australia by @carrybizz

She caused a bit of a stir… so I made her a wild cousin. šŸ†šŸŒø

After the love (and honestly, the many messages šŸ‘€) following Margot the chicken I posted a few weeks ago, with so many people asking for something in a similar style… I thought, why not expand the series?

So here she is.
Same bold feminine energy, same playful botanical chaos, same dreamy colour palette… but with a completely different attitude. ✨

This cheetah design is a one-off concept and is now available to be tattooed.

Perfect for someone who loves statement pieces, quirky elegance, and tattoos that feel like art with personality.

As always, I’d adapt placement and flow to your body so it feels truly yours šŸ–¤

🩷 Some tattoos are simply beautiful. Others become part of someone’s healing. ✨
This piece has been slowly evolving, layer by layer, like the story behind it. Soft florals, delicate movement, meaningful placement… created not just to decorate, but to help reclaim confidence and femininity in a deeply personal way.

One of the things I love most about this kind of work is how tattooing can transform the way we see ourselves again. Not by hiding what’s been through something… but by honouring it with art. 🌸

Thank you for trusting me with something so personal.

Some tattoos carry more than beauty, they carry someone with them. šŸ–¤

My client came in wanting to honour her Nannie with something deeply personal.
The handwritten script in this piece wasn’t chosen from a font, it was taken directly from a note her grandmother once left her, signed simply:

Love Nannie.

A few words, but the kind that hold a lifetime of warmth, memories, and love.

We paired that precious handwriting with a delicate botanical piece that feels soft, timeless, and full of movement, creating something that doesn’t just decorate the skin, but keeps a connection alive.

This is the kind of tattooing I love most.
Pieces that tell stories. Pieces that mean something. ✨

What would you tattoo to keep a memory close? Feel free to send me your idea, I would love to bring it to life 🩷 by @carrybizz

DOES NUMBING CREAM MAKE TATTOOS FADE FASTER?
My take after 25 years of tattooing.

This question comes up ALL the time, so let’s talk about it.

Short answer? In my experience: no — numbing cream does not automatically make your tattoo fade faster.

After 25 years in this industry, I genuinely don’t believe numbing cream is the villain some people make it out to be.

A lot of the fear around numbing cream comes from stories like:
ā€œThe ink didn’t take.ā€
ā€œThe colour healed patchy.ā€
ā€œIt healed badly because of the cream.ā€

But honestly? In most cases, that’s an oversimplification.

Tattoo healing and ink retention depend on so many factors:
• technique
• depth consistency
• needle choice
• skin type
• placement
• aftercare
• pigment quality
• session length
• even hydration + sun exposure afterwards

That’s a LOT more relevant than simply whether numbing cream was used.

A good artist understands how skin behaves — numb or not.

Yes, some numbing products can temporarily change the skin texture slightly (a little tighter, softer, or more reactive depending on the formula), which means your artist may need to adjust their approach. But that’s a technique conversation, not proof that numbing cream ruins tattoos.

I’ve used numbing support for clients who are anxious, sensitive, sitting for long sessions, or working on spicy placements — and I’ve seen beautiful healed results over and over again.

Pain tolerance should not be some weird badge of honour.

If numbing cream helps you get through the experience calmly and allows us to create better work because you’re not tensing, shaking, or tapping out early… that can actually be a positive.

The real key?
Use the RIGHT product, use it correctly, and talk to your artist first.

Because like most things in tattooing… it’s not about internet myths. It’s about knowledge, technique, and experience.

Have you been told numbing cream ā€œruins tattoosā€? šŸ‘€šŸ‘‡ taken in Perth, Western Australia by @carrybizz
