7th place at the Olympic Games.

Some things I would change - I don’t dream at night of 7th place, but most things I wouldn’t have any other way.
We are a young team - less than 2 years ago we were teenagers competing at worlds for the first time at this same velodrome and could only have dreamed of the times we set this week. If we can achieve this in 2 years, just think where we can be for LA 2028.

Keep supporting Canadian Team Pursuit. With the right resources we are amongst the best in the world.

I am proud of everyone who has been a part of this journey.

Gonna fly now.

That’s a double rainbow at this year’s Junior Track World Championships in the Individual Pursuit and the Omnium!!🌈🌈

Could not have achieved this feat without the help of so many different people/organizations along the way this year.

Mission accomplished! Very grateful for those who have been a part of this little project since last year’s championships. Special shout-outs to mom and dad who give up their time to support me around these important races and to @peakandvalleyc for helping guide me along the way to this result.

A validating return to world-level track cycling after a 3 year hiatus.

To be 10th in the world in what was definitively the fastest-ever Individual Pursuit competition in history and smashing my own national record in the process feels very good; 4:05.6 is a bloody fast time. The analyst in me is satisfied but naturally, the competitor wants more, especially when the margins are as small as they are.

Further, I am proud of how we rode in the Team Pursuit. This was the first step towards #LA2028 and this team has some real momentum, but there is still more to squeeze from the lemon.

Finally, I want to say thank you to the sponsors who are stepping up to support our collective Olympic efforts, and personally to @canfund who’s individual support allowed me to pay for the round-trip ticket to Shanghai and make competing at this year’s worlds realistic for me. Looking forward to going into 2027 with some great people behind me.

Ok that’s enough yapping from me. ✌️out 2026 season.

I LOVE cycling! Today I finally got a chance to see @carson.mattern and @cyclingcanadaofficial training at the @miltonvelodrome. Awesome facility, and they are looking fast!

Good luck to Carson and all of Team Canada at the upcoming World Champs and Olympic qualifier in Shanghai!

Was fun to see some of the cool kids on the wall of fame too @tanyadubnicoff @tara.whitten @curt_harnett to name a few!

So very pleased to receive @canfund sponsorship as the #LA2028 Olympic Journey starts this month, in Shanghai. Thank you donors and the entire CAN Fund community for supporting Canadian Athletes.

Canada is being painted one Word at a time. This has never been done before. My word is POSSIBILITY. I invite you to donate and share your word so it can be added to the Who We Are painting. Here’s all it takes- choose your word and go to OurWords.ca. Each word is $25 or more and receives a tax receipt – each word is supporting CAN Fund.

I broke my neck at this race last year, and thought that it was curtains on my career. Needless to say, coming back and finishing this one off felt good.

Gettin’er done.
I have been on the podium in every elite national championship IP I have contested since I was 18. This weekend I took my first gold. This is special for many reasons… grateful to be back at this level after some difficult months.

Thank you to the people who support me.

Hello everyone. An update from me:

I suffered a high-speed crash at the Tour De L’Avenir. After colliding with a guard-rail, I fell roughly 20 feet down an embankment.
I consider myself lucky under the circumstances as the accident could have been much worse. I have broken my ankle, broke my neck and caused some other muscle damage in my shoulders, neck and back. I have undergone the necessary and routine operation for my ankle and require no surgery for my neck as there has thankfully been no neurological damage.
As of writing this, I will remain in hospital for a few more days before returning to Girona and shortly thereafter to Ancaster. I plan to work very closely with the therapists/practitioners within my support circle to treat the injuries to ensure that my body is ready to return to training safely and hopefully as soon as possible.

For the moment, I have to accept that I will not be able to compete at both the GP Cyclist de Quebec & Montreal and the Road World Championships. My participation in the Track World Championships remains to be seen.

For years, the Tour de L’Avenir has been a race I have aspired to ride. It was hard at times to believe that I was actually in this prestigious race and I am devastated to have had to leave the race on the second-last day.

Otherwise I am in good spirits and am thankful for all those who have reached out to me already and the staff who stayed with me in the hospital and are assisting in my transport.

See you back on the road or velodrome soon.

Carson

P.S. yes I received assistance before the photo in the grass was taken. I think it is important to smile even while waiting for an ambulance on the side of a mountain 😜 by @carson.mattern
