The laughing. The clapping. The moments they stop worrying about getting it “right” and just GO FOR IT.

There’s truly nothing better in the world.

Dance is so much more than steps, technique, trophies, or what happens on a stage.

It’s creating a space where a child feels safe enough to be silly, brave enough to try, and confident enough to test the limits of what they thought they could do.

To watch that confidence grow right in front of you—to see the moment they start believing in themselves a little more—is something I’ll never take for granted.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped trying to become the version of me that made everyone else comfortable.

I started healing when I first got my diagnosis 👏🏻
My weird came back. My fire🔥 came back. My dreams got bigger. And I stopped shrinking them down so they made sense to other people. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I learned that discipline is a form of self-respect. That protecting my peace doesn’t need an explanation. 🤘🏻And that I don’t need anyone’s permission to become the woman I know I’m capable of being.

I’ve lost myself before.
I won’t abandon her again.

So call it healing. Call it discipline. 🫡 Call it delusion.
I call it finally choosing myself — and building the damn life I want. ❤️

Most people hear My Little Girl and think of a father and his daughter.

But for me, this song has always been about me and you, Sawyer. 🤍

Because in the beginning, it was just us. You and me against the world.

You were the baby who changed my entire life. My angel. My first little girl. Everything I never knew I needed. You gave me purpose in ways I didn’t even know I was searching for.

I grew up with you, Sawyer. While you were learning how to be a little girl, I was learning how to be your mom. And through every season and every version of us, it has always been you and me.

Now I get to watch you become this incredible little girl, and I couldn’t be more proud.

You are genuinely good. You are sweet, thoughtful, fiercely honest, and you love so deeply. You are unbelievably talented, but what makes me proudest has nothing to do with what you can do — it’s who you are.

You have a fire inside of you that I pray you never lose. You know what you believe, you know what you want, and you work harder than anyone I know to get there. Every beautiful thing that comes your way, you are so deserving of it.

I hope you always know I’m proud of you — not just for the things you accomplish, but for the sister, friend, daughter, and person you are.

I pray this world never makes you shrink yourself. Never lose your fire. Never stop telling the truth. Never stop loving deeply. And never stop chasing the things that set your soul on fire.
