Ummmmmm…. I honestly don’t even know what to say, story or post, or even anything at all because “thank you” doesn’t feel like enough. To every person, teacher, player, friend, and especially my parents, I wouldn’t be here without you. Every single one of you played a role in getting me to this moment. Last year, I missed All-State by one chair. It sucked. I kept asking myself why I couldn’t have just played a little bit better. Why me? Why not just one chair higher? But looking back, it was the best thing that could’ve happened to me. I’ve never pushed myself and been pushed harder. I’ve never felt this much support. I’ve never felt more connected to music. Every player I’ve met, I’ve learned something, small pieces that stuck with me and shaped how I play and who I am. If you think you didn’t help me get here, you’re wrong. I’m always learning from the people around me, and that excites me more than anything. My craft and my accomplishments have always been a culmination of everyone I’ve met’s pieces glued together to make the person I am today. This accomplishment belongs to all of you.

“Senior me, if you’re reading this, or reading this to your section, I hope you never forgot what it felt like to fall in love with this activity. I hope you still get that rush during warmups, or that feeling when the show just clicks. I hope you still care about every rep, every person, every tiny detail that made this band special.

I hope you kept trying, even when it got hard, and that you became someone the freshmen look up to, the same way I look up to the upperclassmen right now. Remember how you used to dream about being in their spot? Well, now you’re them.

And most of all, I hope you can look around at your section, at the field, at the people who became your second family, and realize how lucky you were to grow up here.

So yeah, that’s all from freshman year me. Keep giving it everything. Keep loving it. Don’t let it fly by too fast.”

TMEA 2024 was unreal. So many amazing memories and friends that I made there I will never forget. I am very grateful for the opportunity to do this again this year. Being with some of the greatest and most fun people in Texas for 4 days is an incredible experience, but it goes by too fast. Thank you to everyone for making this as amazing as it has been. This season has just been absolutely unreal. Requiem has left an lasting mark on my heart. The dedication and culture this program has achieved are beyond words. From the very first note in summer band to the final performance in the Alamodome, every moment has been a symphony of passion and hard work. These months with the Rouse Marching Band have filled my heart with unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships. The Rouse band family and this show have truly touched my heart and I will never forget these moments. Going into my freshman year of high school, I expected nothing special to come out of it. But when I made All State and attended the convention, it felt like it could have been the highlight of all of high school. What an amazing experience and such amazing people and musicians that I met really changed my view and perspective on not only music, but the amazing community the state of Texas offers. Thank you so much to my absolutely incredible directors and lesson teacher. I would have not had the motivation or love for band and music as I do now and it really has changed my life.
