one year ago we opened @closefriendsbk (can you believe it, i cannot?!) and it’s been one for the books! i realized i haven’t shared much of the bts of all of the work that went into opening up the shop and sue me, your girl loves to reminisce. (spoiler alert: we had A LOT of help, learned a lot of lessons, and put in so many hours to bring the shop to life ourselves). we had so much fun renovating, although i can’t say I miss my hair and hands being covered in paint for an entire month straight. there were high highs, like lucking out with an incredible landlord who wanted to bring our vision to life and helped us out in countless ways, and low lows, like buying $3500 of the wrong flooring and realizing that only after it had been delivered. swipe to see a small part of the shop renovation journey including some major jump scares of the space we inherited and our jungle of a backyard!

there are so many more people who helped that i sadly don’t have photos of - see: paint covered hands. you know who you are and we’re eternally grateful and wouldn’t have been able to open without you. happy 1 year @closefriendsbk , i love you! @lizballmaier we freakin’ did it! 🤍 taken in Greenpoint, Brooklyn by @carsonkoser

a year ago (!!!) we went to costa rica and stayed in the coolest glass house in the rainforest, but i made @chelsealrice share a bed and watch @amauryguichon chocolate videos to fall asleep because I am a Well Adjusted Adult & our friends @erinreynoldson & @elsewhereman got engaged & i continued to form my cat coven with all the kitties around the world & we experienced the most majestic sunset after days of rain. taken in Puerto Viejo, Limon, Costa Rica by @carsonkoser
