1 year heart transplant anniversary

a year ago this month i thought i was dead. a year ago today, my life was saved my a random stranger. since then, i have learned so much about myself and life. being so young and coming so close to death changed my perspective on everything. i learned how to breath, walk, talk, eat, run, dance again and fought to be where i am now. i take 30 pills everyday to stay alive. i use wheelchairs, walkers, canes to get around. i go to countless appointments and have been poked with a million needles. i grieve my old life and my new future every second of every day. but i LIVE. i make connections, i try new things, i celebrate life, and i connect with myself. my journey is far from over and will be something i carry with me until the end of time. but man i am so grateful someone decided to donate their organs and the healing power of the body. here is to may more happy, healthy years❤️‍🩹

that’s life🤍💚

this solo means so much to me. three months ago my heart stopped and everything changes. from getting a new heart, learning how to walk again after being told it may never happen, and starting my life over senior year, i’m proud to say i competed a self choreographed solo at my last competition ever and received 4th overall. life can change in an instant but i’ve learned to make the most of it. although this solo is far from perfect and im no where near the level i used to be, my story and journey isn’t over yet❤️‍🩹 by @carsonrosee_

recovery is a true miracle yet a slow process but one that is necessary. ringing the bell to leave the hospital was a feeling i’ll never forget. being there in total for 40 days, i was overwhelmed with joy and relief. now i am currently in the rehab center where i will spend 1-2 weeks gaining strength and mobility. thank you guys again for all the love, prayers, and support they are felt and helpful. i love you all! by @carsonrosee_
