I'm not one to typically write long posts or post frequently, but this weekend was truly special. I was surrounded by my supportive friends from Broad Arrow Group who encouraged and motivated me to perform at my best in a very challenging environment. In my 20s and 30s, the Daytona 24 was a regular event for my father and I. We were spectators in the stands; never dreaming of competing on the high banks.

Shortly after asking me to race the HSR Classic 24 with him (how could I say no?), Ramsey Potts slapped my name on the roof of his number 58 Porsche 944… a car I've never driven, entering us to compete at track I've never raced at. He simply said, “Have fun!” Who does that?! Only Ramsey! He and the DAS Sport team made it possible for us to compete in every event, and with their positive energy and hard work, we secured three class wins and had competitive finishes in every race. Thank you, Ramsey!

Marvin Waters II is a true Ironman. Marvin not only entered and participated in every session, but he and his wife Gwen also prepared and flawlessly ran their number 59 Porsche 944 RS together. Endurance racing requires planning and execution. With an optimum Sunday afternoon result top of mind, their incredible efforts paid off with a podium finish in the Classic 24 Hours main event. Bravo, Gwen and Marvin!

Ray Shaffer exceeded all my expectations at the race track. He's driven, focused, and poised from his time representing Porsche. He pilots his factory 944 Turbo Cup "Hornbostel" as though he’s competing in a 1980s Rothmans Turbo Cup race. Despite some gearbox issues in his first stint at the Classic 24, Ray stayed to support and congratulate his teammates, providing insight and levity through the Sunday afternoon finale. Ray is a true team player. Kudos, Ray!

I'm proud to work with these three every day on consignments for The Amelia and Hagerty Marketplace. I'm even more thrilled to share the track and witness them in their element at “The Big House.” Thanks guys.
