Artist Recognition for Masks and Mascs- @cartiereece

‼️Content TRIGGER WARNING: The book mentioned below contains themes of SA‼️

Hi there.
My name is Cartie Whitelaw, and I am the author and artist behind the Pantomime of a Southern Chameleon.
This book is as much a recounting of my adventures as it is a dissection of my experience being queer in the Deep South. Through the entire book, there is an allegory of acceptance of my own transformation and identity, being a victim of sexual assault, and less-than-perfect aspects of who I am. All of these things, while incredibly difficult, made me realize retrospectively that the lives we lead are full of vibrancy, color, and one-of-a-kind experiences. By being outsiders, being different, we have the privilege and opportunity to leave this world with wisdom, knowledge, and a true chance to change the hearts and minds of those around us. In totality, this is a love letter to those who are brave enough to release the performances of their lives and the rocky road it takes to get there.
