🏌️‍♂️ NEW SWING… SAME GOLFER?!

Back down the range today, trying out some swing changes and seeing what happens! 👀⛳️

A few different clubs, some decent shots, a few that could probably do with being reported missing… and plenty to work on.

The handicap has crept back up to 13.4, so there’s only one thing for it… get the clubs out and put the work in! 💪🏼

I’m not here pretending to be a golf coach. I’m just trying to figure this game out and get from 17.8 to 9.4 if it’s even possible 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Progress, not perfection. Let’s see if this new swing sticks! 👀

🎯 13.4 ➡️ 9.4

HC UPDATE! ⛳️🤦‍♂️😂

13.1 ➡️ 13.4 📈

Well… that’s golf for you! One minute you’re winning competitions, the next your handicap is heading in the wrong bloody direction! 🤣

We’ve gone backwards a little, but that’s part of the journey. No point pretending it’s all birdies and glory — there’ll be good rounds, bad rounds and the occasional absolute disaster!

Started this journey at 17.8 and the target is still 9.4. 🎯

Progress, not perfection. Even when the progress goes the wrong way! 🤦‍♂️😂

Right then… time to get back to work. 💪🏼⛳️

13.4 ➡️ 9.4 — THE JOURNEY CONTINUES!

ROUND 1 OF THE CHALLENGE CUP DONE! ⛳️

81 GROSS. 33 POINTS. TWO BLOBS.

Playing off 12 today and I’m actually happy with that.

42 out, 39 back (5 over back 9) and 33 Stableford points — with two blobs thrown in for good measure! 🤦‍♂️

Those two holes weren’t scoring, so I gave myself a 6 and a 5 just to keep the card honest.

After the absolute disaster that was the 103 last time out, this feels a LOT better!

One round down… one to go. 👀

Let’s see what Rd 2 brings

13.1 → 9.4 🎯

I WAS DOUBLE DOG SHIT YESTERDAY… 🤦🏽‍♂️😂

So obviously the answer was to buy myself a new putter. 👀🕷️
Because that’s how golf works, right?! 😂

Picked up a second-hand TaylorMade Spider and I’m absolutely buzzing with it.

Now I know the putter wasn’t the problem but it can absolutely still be improved so it makes sense…….right 😉

13.1 → 9.4 🎯

I WON MY LAST COMPETITION… THEN SHOT 103. 🤦🏽‍♂️😂

Yep.

103 bloody shots.

After shooting 81 and winning the comp last week, I turned up today as a 13.1 handicapper and proceeded to play like I’d never seen a golf club before. 😂

This game genuinely makes no sense.

But that’s the reality of trying to go from 17.8 → 9.4.

There’ll be good rounds.
There’ll be absolute fucking disasters.

Today was definitely the latter. 😂

13.1 → 9.4 🎯

Anyone else ever followed up a great round with an absolute shocker?! 👇🏼

13.1 HC… and the Big Dog is behaving….kind of!. 👀😂

Been working on the driver and thought I’d see what it actually looks like on the range.

A few decent ones in there… 👌🏽

Still absolutely capable of producing something that looks like I’ve never held a golf club before, obviously. 😂

But compared with where the driver was when I started this journey… there’s definitely progress.

17.8 → 13.1 🎯

Driver still under observation. 😂

HC UPDATE 🚨🏌️‍♂️

13.5 → 13.1 🙌🏽

Been cut again! 🙌🏽

Only 0.4 this time, but every little bit counts when the target is 9.4.

Started this journey at 17.8 and we’re now sitting at 13.1.

4.7 shots down. 4.1 to go. 🤨

Slowly but surely…
Road to Single Figures continues. 🎯

I HAD A DECENT ROUND TODAY🥇😂

I genuinely didn’t see this coming after starting with a 7 and a 6 🤦🏽‍♂️

Somehow managed to pull it back and finish with an 81 gross / 69 net, playing off 12 (Cse is a par 69)

Shot 37 on the back 9 and somehow that was enough to take the win on count back! 🙌🏽🏆

From 17.8 → 13.5 so far… and the target is still 9.4. Potentially another drop as I think this will go on as a scoring card of my 8/20.

Maybe group 1 early starts are the way ahead 😂

Social round today with my best mate and my new partner.

Managed to shoot 85, including an EAGLE 🦅… which sounds bloody good until you realise I also managed at least FOUR 3-PUTTS 🤦‍♂️😂

The putting was absolutely nowhere today — very unusual for me.

I reckon at least 4 of those 3-putts would’ve been pars with a decent second putt. So there was definitely a better score hiding in there.

An eagle and 4+ three-putts in the same round.

Got to love golf 😂

13.5 → 9.4 🎯

I hate golf. 😂

Honestly… sometimes I bloody love it.
Other times I genuinely question why I keep doing this to myself. 😂

And yet here we are… trying to get from 13.5 → 9.4.

Golf. Fucking brilliant game. 🤣⛳️

Anyone else feel exactly the same?

Daily Mail Pairs today ⛳️

First time playing with my new partner and it was alternate shot, so absolutely no hiding! 😂

We came in with 80 gross / 68 net, playing off 12.

Finished 3rd overall! 🥉

Pretty bloody happy with that!

13.5 → 9.4 🎯
