Rainbow Student Showcase 2026 🌈

A wonderful experience that brought me realizations and regrets at the same time.

I started this piece with so much self-doubt, feeling like my concept wasn’t relatable or entertaining enough. Kinabahan ako lalo nung piece viewing kasi it was total silence after I performed in front of the coaches and other performers. First thing na pumasok sa isip ko, “Syet, di ata talaga maganda ginawa ko.” 😂
But Coach @ponla___ feedback that the concept was interesting, plus the encouragement from my co-performers, gave me hope to push through. Sobrang thankful ako sa coaches for their inputs that helped me build the message I wanted to share.

Thank you so much po, Mother @joeabuda , for tapping me for this showcase. Nakakakilig po na isa ako sa mga students mo na naisip mong mag-join dito. 🥹 Thank you for the trust and for inspiring us to say YES to every good opportunity kahit nakakakaba.

And thank you din sa mga friendships ko who kept me going when I almost quit during one of the darkest times in my life, when I had lost interest even in the things I love. @yel.teano @marthadjante @chardiecasiguran @maggybare @jendeasis @duhnzreelgene

This showcase made me realize that it’s not just dance that makes me happy—it’s performing, creating, portraying characters, and telling stories.
I didn’t showcase dance technique this time, but my love for art through makeup, acting, movement, and storytelling.
It also brought me back to a long-forgotten dream of becoming a theatre actress, and made me wonder why I ever got scared to pursue it. I wish tinapangan ko na. Maybe back then, passion didn’t always feel practical when you didn’t come from a well-off family. (kaya pala lakas ng tama saken ng song na to ng Muli)

Thank you, @tads.ph , for giving us a space to share whatever art and talent we have. I never imagined I’d get this kind of chance, and I’m so grateful I said yes. 🌈
HAPPY 8TH TADSVERSARY! 🫶

CARY MAIKO

A very special piece of mine. 🤍
The concept, script, music, choreography, costume, hair & makeup - all came from my love and fascination with Geisha, inspired by Memoirs of a Geisha. I was initially hesitant because I had never done anything like this before, but my curiosity led me to explore their world.

I immersed myself in documentaries and performances, studying their movements, mannerisms, and makeup because I wanted to approach this piece with respect, not just recreate the aesthetic. Through this journey, my admiration for Geisha and their artistry grew even deeper.

Thank you, @tads.ph , for lending us a stage where we can showcase our love for the art, surrounded by people who genuinely appreciate it. Thank you to all the coaches who shared their feedback and helped elevate our piece. Indeed, TADS is a home for artistry. It’s our home. 🌈🏠

To all my friends and loved ones who supported me even before I submitted my entry—thank you for believing in me and reminding me that I could do this. And to everyone who watched and appreciated my art, thank you for being part of this journey.

This is the birth of Cary Maiko. Chareng! HAHA Grabe sobrang naenjoy ko yung buong process 😍 Next year uli? by @carymae
