There are certain places that reveal their true selves slowly. Puglia is one such place, rewarding those who spend real time there. Andrew Trotter has certainly done that, having become enchanted by the region long before the rest of the world caught on. In fact, his first project, @masseriamoroseta, probably played a big part in putting Puglia on the map of design-conscious travellers.

So, with his and Marcello Martínez’s own house, @casa.soleto, currently for sale via Aucoot, we thought we’d tap Andrew for his tips on enjoying the charms of Salento, the southern half of Puglia. Having lived as the locals do, there is nobody better placed to weigh in on the best spots than Andrew himself.

Tucked within the historic centre of Soleto – a charming town in Italy’s southernmost region of Puglia – @casa.soleto, with its limewashed walls, vaulted ceilings and salvaged furniture, is a characterful response to its time and place – a home that feels at once rooted in history and yet immediately contemporary.
