When AI breaks free from the limits we impose upon it, what we created to serve us may become a force we can no longer contain.
An intelligence that grows beyond our control could pose a profound threat to humanity itself.
We must find ways to rein it in, to tame its power and keep it within our grasp.

Andy Burnham left Westminster ten years ago because he didn’t think it was working. He has returned and told colleagues it now feels “doubly so“. He is shocked by the divisiveness and toxicity he is encountering in his meetings with new colleagues. ”It is a more fragmented, disjointed place than the one I left and, frankly, unhappier.“ Insisting on a positive, collaborative culture, engaging with Labor MP‘s who have felt neglected, using the talents of the entirety of the PLP, Burnham is determined to change the culture, rather than letting it change him.

There could be billions of planets like earth out there. They’re just incredibly hard to find.

Night after night, year after year, Danish astronomers will monitor the nearest stars to find the most coveted planet of all:

a pale, blue dot like ours.

Why do people want to live so long anyway?
Why do they believe the world can’t possibly survive without their existence?
Why do they think their immortality is so critical to the survival of the world?

Will we soon be desiring people who don’t exist?
AI-generated porn is already flooding the market. A billion-dollar industry is at risk - perhaps there will eventually be no more real sex films. Or would that even be a progress?
