On Saturday at Cascada Outpost, we gathered to trace 400 kilometers of high passes and hard miles across Nepal’s Annapurna region. Before the lights dimmed, Giulia and Federico took us back to the start, from Pokhara and up into the mountains.

They spoke about the weight of the first climb. About pushing bikes where riding wasn’t an option. On the screen, the images did the rest, dust roads cutting through vast valleys, prayer flags snapping against glacier-fed skies, small villages carved into stone and time. You could feel the scale of it. The exposure. The effort.

Then we watched the film together "Annapurna Circuit" and for a while the room traveled with them. Every switchback. Every pass. Every earned descent.

It was an inspiring evening, the kind that reminds you why we go far in the first place.

Thanks to everyone who showed up, stayed awhile and shared a beer with us.

Annapurna Circuit traces 400km of high-altitude bikepacking through Nepal’s Annapurna region: thin air, long climbs, dust, silence and the kind of perspective you only earn the hard way.

During the opening of La Terra del Freddo, @mattia_dori shared the story behind his 2020 journey north, why he followed the cold, what pulled him deeper into Finland, and how silence, light, and distance shaped the work.

Those same elements carried through the photographs. You could feel it in the room: the quiet, the weight of winter, the sense of standing still in a vast landscape. The images did what they were meant to do, they brought the North closer.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and leaned in.

For those who couldn’t make it on opening night, the road is still open. The exhibition remains on view until January 31st at the Cascada Outpost.

Nei recessi più remoti del Nord, dove luce e oscurità si scambiano di posto come vecchie amiche, c'è una quiete che cambia una persona. La neve non è solo meteo: è terreno, orizzonte, silenzio. Modella il modo in cui cammini, il modo in cui respiri, il modo in cui vedi.

Questa è la terra che ha chiamato il fotografo Mattia Dori nell'inverno del 2020. Un luogo dove le foreste si ergono come sentinelle sotto cieli carichi di brina, dove il freddo diventa un compagno piuttosto che un ostacolo, e dove ogni momento è allo stesso tempo crudo e raffinato. La Terra del Freddo è il risultato: una raccolta di fotografie che non si limitano a documentare i paesaggi ghiacciati della Finlandia, ma catturano qualcosa di più profondo: un dialogo intimo tra il viaggiatore e la natura selvaggia.

Vi invitiamo a entrare in questo mondo.

L'inaugurazione si terrà il 20 Gennaio presso Cascada Outpost, è un'occasione per ascoltare in prima persona come il Nord abbia rimodellato l'occhio e lo spirito di un fotografo.

La mostra rimarrà aperta fino al 31 gennaio, offrendo il tempo di lasciare che queste immagini si sedimentino nella vostra mente e vi accompagnino a lungo anche dopo che la neve si sarà sciolta altrove.

La Terra del Freddo - A Photographic Journey into the Finnish North by Mattia Dori.

A journey in search of the refined shapes the cold takes on, and in relentless pursuit of light. The path forward is sometimes marked by wild animals cutting through the snow; other times it reveals itself as a blade of light catching a ridgeline, or the slow, sinuous curve of a slope.

To move in rhythm with nature, and in doing so, find your way back to yourself.

This is the land that called to photographer Mattia Dori in the winter of 2020. A place where forests stand like sentinels under frost-laden skies, where the cold becomes a companion rather than an obstacle, and where every moment feels both raw and refined. La Terra del Freddo is the result: a collection of photographs that don’t merely document Finland’s frozen landscapes, but capture something deeper, an intimate conversation between wanderer and wilderness.

We invite you to step into this world.

The inauguration takes place on January 20th at Cascada Outpost, with @mattia_dori in attendance. Mattia will share stories from his journey—about the northern light that shifts like a living thing, the nights that blur into dawn, and the quiet connection forged with a land defined by cold.
