From the day of your diagnosis, we had 10 days together. I am still deeply traumatized by how quickly your physical state changed, but even more in awe of how clearly your spirit came forward and shined through it all. I am so grateful I got to be there with you for every second. I am eternally grateful for how Jesus showed up for you and everything He revealed to you in such a short time. I learned so much with you while the veil was so thin.

Six months without you has shown me that I will never get over not having you here in this realm. I would have never given up on you or your wishes. I do not understand how things were allowed to unfold the way they did, but I rest in knowing that God is good and just, and that He was with you every step of the way. I rest in knowing you are with Jesus now. Held completely in His presence and peace.

Happy Father’s Day to the most imperfectly perfect daddy. Thank you for giving me everything I wanted and for never making me question what I needed. I will follow my dreams just like you did and I pray you hear all about them in heaven until I get there ❤️‍🩹 by @casedi

I imagine what it would feel like to sit with my younger self… hoping she wouldn’t scold me, or that the choices I’ve made wouldn’t bring her more shame, but simply to remind us both of the truth.

That God wants us well. That love heals. That she was never too much and never not enough.

When you finally embrace your younger self instead of hiding from her, your soul comes back together. You stop running from yourself.

It’s crazy how our inner child never stopped believing in us. Even when life disappointed us, they kept dreaming, writing, and creating.

The hardest part is living in a reality that didn’t unfold the way you expected. It can create a strange relationship with your inner child. Knowing that version of you carried so much hope, and never let go, even when you did.

But after all the waiting and all the healing, maybe things are finally shifting. Maybe what they believed for us is about to become real.
