Plot visit in my pjs for what was one of the loveliest summer evenings Iโ€™ve had so far. The tomato jungle is one of the entrances to my plot and it makes me so happy every time I come here!

Iโ€™ve tried what feels like every recipe involving tomatoes, shared loadsssss with friends and neighbours, and Iโ€™m probably about 80% bruschetta at this point ๐Ÿ˜‚

I also donโ€™t buy tomatoes out of season which makes it even more enjoyable. Getting to eat, bake with, share and find ways to use up a glut of tomatoes is my favourite pastime. ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ… by @caseycutsflowers

Berry burst ๐Ÿ‡

Iโ€™m really enjoying playing around with fruit in my arrangements at the moment. These beautiful purple cosmos I cut yesterday seemed to pair perfectly with the dahlias and wild blackberries!

Hiiiiii ๐Ÿ‘‹ Iโ€™ve been wondering where to even begin offloading the hundreds of photos in my camera roll so Iโ€™ve decided my allotment journey deserves to go first!

When I took on my half plot, it goes without saying that it needed some love. In some places you could barely see the ground. However, it was in a great spot. It got a lot of sun, was next to the water supply, and was relatively flat.

To avoid complete overwhelm, I decided to pick a square and start there. The first job was tackling the fence line that separates my plot from the neighbours.

With the plot almost clear, it was time to start assembling the beds and covering the ground.

With the help of Mr B (aka the maker of dreams), the beds were built out of an old fence & I finally felt like Iโ€™d made some progress. Iโ€™ve never done anything like this before, so I completely winged it based on the materials we had at the time which just so happened to be perfect for an allotment.

4 weeks later, my greenhouse at home was bursting at the seams, and I needed to prepare beds for our cabbages, kale, pumpkins, and gourds.

With the help of the chief executive of the pumpkin patch and official fruit taste tester, we spent a morning during spring half term planting out our tomato jungle. ๐Ÿชด๐Ÿ…

Yay for growth. ๐ŸŒฑ

This photo was taken about a month ago, and so much has changed since then. The plot is hardly recognisable compared to how it looked at the beginning of April!

April - June progress in the cut flower beds. ๐ŸŒบ

I planted it, so naturally I expect visible growth every 20 minutes.

Perhaps the most exciting sight of allโ€ฆ the dahlias are coming. ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ

The graft has been totally worth it for the extra space I have to grow more. Things will forever be changing, and I already have lots of ideas for next year but Iโ€™m learning to sit back and appreciate how far the plot has come.

Iโ€™m still finding the balance between doing the gardening and sharing the gardening! Now that the hardest part is done maybe that will get easier. ๐Ÿ˜…

I canโ€™t wait to see what our first full summer on the plot brings and to share more of our favourite hobby. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป by @caseycutsflowers
